  2. I am from southern Wisconsin. I am in pursuit of advancing my knowledge in distilling and it will be a great honor to have the opportunity to work at a distillery. My goal is to continue learning the craft of distilling and to become a Master distiller. Currently I am finishing my graduate degree studies in Adult Education at University of Wisconsin-Platteville and will culminate in May, 2016. I have gained valuable knowledge regarding human relations as it relates to adults in a positive learning environment. I found that my passion is in distilling spirits and home wine making. I fell in love with the ability to create something purely mine by using my own hands and then watching it mature to something so delightful and full of taste. I feel my passion and desire to improve helps create me to be a high-quality applicant for any distilling position. Recently, I have been job shadowing at Potosi Brewing Company, Potosi, WI. I plan to increase my knowledge and continue on the path to becoming a master distiller. If there is any interest, please message me in this forum. I will send you a resume. Thank you, Cole
  3. Greetings, My name is Cole and I live in southwest Wisconsin. I have live in the area my whole life and am currently finishing a Master's Degree in Adult from University of Wisconsin-Platteville. In that degree I currently have a 4.0 GPA, however my dream for many years has been to be a distiller. I like the idea of starting my own distillery in Wisconsin and have a business plan for a distillery, but it still is a work in progress. Naming the distillery and owning a distillery puts a lot on ones shoulders, but having the creative license with spirit development is something one probably will not get working for someone else. Being a current Master's student naturally, I do not have the funds or education for something like a distillery start up. I am looking for an educational opportunity at the very least, since reading materials are not as educationally effective as hands on experience. I would love the chance to apprentice. Any feedback, ideas, help or encouragement would be greatly appreciated to boost education and/or funds. I am stepping to take the right steps for success. Cole sanderscol@uwplatt.edu

  5. Thank you for the comments Here are the issues thus far,,,, I am a Graduate student with little capital... with issues finding my niche market with out getting the permits and starting to experiment. I agree yes without starting you will never truly know however i need to be started in the right direction 1st. As for education I have read many books watched videos and tried to understand the TTBs website as to what I need to do this correctly and trying to read the TTBs pages is the hardest thing i have done so far. I am a education major and my professor and I are trying to set up an educational internship to get the ball rolling. Again Thank you all for the posts
  6. Before I start trying to acquire distilling equipment, since it is very expensive. I have been trying to find the customer segment that I could market to within my area. Since without customers there will not be a company. I am looking for as much advice so when I become educated enough to start distilling I will have customers waiting to be sold to.
