1. Does anyone here have direct connection with the Washington Distillers Guild. I applied, got my initial e-mail and have been waitng for confirmation to get in. It has been a while now with no luck. Odyssey Spirits said he never got his e-mail either but was able to log in, this doesn't work for me. I sent an e-mail to contact them with no response. Any help?
2. This is probably a dumb questions but I am going a little numb reading about all this stuff. From what I gather this is what I have found on where you can place a distillery off the TBB page: Sec. 19.131 Restrictions as to locations Distilled spirits plants shall not be located in any dwelling house, or in any shed, yard, or enclosure connected with any dwelling house, or on board any vessel or boat, or on premises where beer or wine is produced, or liquors of any description are retailed, or (except as provided in Sec. 19.133) on premises where any other business is conducted. (Sec. 201, Pub. L. 85-859, 72 Stat. 1353, as amended (26 U.S.C. 5178)) This was last updated on September 17, 1999 Is that is? Does this mean you can build a structure on your property to do this (I live rural on several acres in WA)? What are most people doing? I assume leasing space somehwere. I understand it varies on size of production but the way this reads it is fairly vague.
3. Good to know. I have anxiously been waiting for my confirmation e-mail to try and log in.
4. Thanks for the links. I have pain stakingly been going through every thread on this website and waiting for my log in on the Washington distllers site. Gla dot see some direct book reccomendations since there seems to be several to choose form and you hate to buy everything.
5. Quick introduction: Name is Matt and live in SW Washington. Would like to get in to distilling and have found in my research (which I am just starting) that the more I read the more cryptic the rules and regulations get. You people have a wealth of knowledge on here and am grateful to soak it all up. What is the best direction to get started for a newbie: attend a seminar, try to visit a local?
6. Hello as well from a Washingtonian. I have just started my interest in starting a distillery and am just scratching the surface for research. It's seems the best way is to meet with someone who has been through it and discuss. This forum will certainly help.
