  1. Hey all, we have a few extra pallets of the Contessa 375ml glass bottle for sale (by Bruni glass). Pallets are 810 bottles each. Excellent quality Italian glass at a very reasonable price. Please email info@jwittyspirits.com if you're interested. Here's a link to the page in the catalog: http://www.vbruni.it/product_new.asp?ID=12362
  2. Hi, I was wondering whether any of you who use natural corks have had a problem with cork deterioration or breakage after your product is bottled. When there are bits of cork that are visible in the bottle, do you empty, filter and refill? Or do you sell them as-is, and if so, how is the acceptance with consumers, bars, and retailers? Any complaints? Wondering whether natural cork was the wrong path to take... thanks, Jill
  3. Hi, Does anyone have any recommendations for an insurance agent or company to use for product liability insurance? I would like to use someone who has experience and expertise in the distilled spirits field, as the normal channels I have tried seem to be confused by some of the laws and regulations that would affect insurance coverage for spirits companies. Thanks, Jill
  4. Congratulations! Keep us posted on the Guild's development and achievements...
  5. I wouldn't be surprised if it's custom-made. I think Phillips has the money to do that. I did a lot of bottle research about one year back and don't recognize it as a stock bottle. Good luck- Jill
  6. If you're just looking to experiment in small quantities, start with shelf vodkas and grain alcohols- they will give you a decent idea of what you'll be working with, while you're in the process of obtaining your permits. (Unless, of course, you were going to make an absinthe or some other high proof spirit or liqueur). Good luck!
  7. If you're not ready to go big, you could also look into sharing/subletting some of the space. There may well be others in your area that need warehousing and/or distilling space, and you've already done a lot of the legwork for them by finding space and getting permits. Just a thought.
  8. Welcome, Amy! Great to see another female in the industry. I got married in Bozeman this past summer but have never made it to Kalispell- is it nice out there?
  9. Thanks for all your suggestions. Since I've already received the bottles from abroad and am ready with my printers to print my labels, I won't be able to get the manufacturer's help this time, but maybe next round. But if anyone is new out there, learn from my mistakes: think about label design and ease of application when choosing a bottle! I had no idea the application step would be this challenging.
  10. Hi, I'm wondering whether anyone can point me in the direction of a machine or solution for labelling unusual bottles (i.e. not round cylinders), other than by hand. My bottle is both tapered and squared, and most of the machines I've found (at least in my price range... inexpensive) won't work with this bottle shape. I would very much appreciate any advice you may have. Thanks! Jill
  11. Hi everyone, Just a quick intro and glad to see so much active participation in these forums. I'm nearing launch of my spirits line and will post more about them once I'm no longer in stealth mode. Until then, hello to all, happy 2009, and hurray for spirits!
