  1. I just want to make sure you are calling the correct entity. If you have questions regarding DSP registrations or taxes, you should be calling the NRC, National Revenue Center for the TTB, at 877-882-3277. I do not like their new phone system which send you, automatically, to voicemail after 15 minutes of holding, else wise, I feel the people working at the call center are helpful or will get you to someone who is helpful.
  2. Many large retailers ONLY accept GS1 bar codes. I had a number of wineries that had to redo all their labels with GS1 bar codes, or pull all of their stock at Kroger/Fred Meyer stores when they switched to an only GS1 system. It was a very costly change over and/or business lost. http://www.gtin.info/how-to-get-a-barcode/
  3. You could always do like Pat O's in the French quarter. Charge so much for the mug, like a deposit, and if the glass/mug is returned they get their money back. A little time consuming, but you will find most will bring the glass/mug back for the deposit. But some will keep them as a souvenir. Or do just what Pat O's does exactly and not tell people they can return the glass for a refund and you are ahead the glasses that are left behind by the unsuspecting (don't do this). Of course your cost is a boat load higher that the cost of a hurricane glass...but a suggestion.
  4. Per the recent TTB webinar: Methods to find proof: True proof by distillation - any sample, regardless of proof or solids content
  5. If you are going to change entity type, just be sure that you know the TTB's rules before you enter the process. http://www.ttb.gov/spirits/makechanges.shtml I worked for a wholesaler who decided to convert from a LLC to to a S-corp, and did not check with the TTB on how this would affect his permit before starting the process. Much money and time were wasted on lawyers and work stoppages until things got worked out.
  6. Check out the solid wall ProBin, just an example as most of us can't buy a truck load of these: http://www.macroplastics.com/products/probin-family/
  7. Send me a PM and I will give you my contact that should be able to take care of the TIB form in a few days.
