  5. It would be great if home distillation became legal for personal consumption I suspect it would do a lot of good to take the existing practice out of the shadows and allow people to learn best practices earlier. However, like Dave I'm not holding my breath.

  12. Since the beginning of the year I have been collecting information on the different state laws that govern distillery tasting room laws around the country. I completed the survey and the results have been published in the Fall 2015 issue of Distiller Magazine. Since this is a very important topic I wanted to post the information from the survey here. If there are any errors in the survey please email me eric@distilling.com to let me know. ADI 2015 Survey of State Tasting Room Laws for Craft Distilleries.pdf
  13. Due to recent user feedback, we will be making some changes to the For Sale section of the forum because it has been operating as an unregulated ad space. We are planning on splitting the for sale section into two: one a peer to peer section for sales that will operate like a online classified section where specific items are listed for sale for specific prices. The second section will list item for sale from vendors. Rather than have it be cluttered with generic advertisements the Vendor sales section will host listings for specific items or services for sale for specific prices. This also might include announcements or specific promotions or reduced pricing on specific items. If a listing hasn't been marked for removal after 3 months, we will remove the ad, assuming that it has either sold or that the item is no longer for sale. The idea here is to create some clarity about what items are still for sale when looking at this section of the forum.
  14. The old (3+ month) topics in the for sale section will be locked so they are visible.
  15. Thank you for the note on this.
  16. I am not a lawyer but almost every reference to 12-47-301 in the Colorado Liquor code refers to "sampling of malt, vinous, or spiritous liquors that may occur on the premises of a retail liquor store licensee or liquor-licensed drugstore licensee by adult patrons of the licensee pursuant to the provisions of section 12-47-301 (10)." 12-47-103 (37.5) Stephen Gould suggested that because 12-47-407 (6)(a)-(6)(d) does not reference or refer to 12-47-301 the restrictions for tastings conducted by retail liquor store licensee or liquor-licensed drugstore licensee do not apply. If this is not true then it would also mean that Colorado distillers who offer tastings would have to destroy any liquor leftover from a tasting and buy their own bottles from a wholesaler to use in their tasting room. Do you know of anyone at the Colorado Department of Revenue-Liquor Enforcement Division that could give an official statement on the correct reading of these statutes?
  17. This section of the forum operates as a Peer-to-Peer online classifieds. Users of the forum may post items for sale which include a specific price. Sellers are encouraged to include photographs of the item(s) for sale since ad with photos tend to sell more quickly. If the item sells please “report” the topic to the administrators so that it can be locked. Unreported topics older than 3 months will be assumed to have sold and locked by the administrators. Images can be added to new topics in a couple different ways. Uploaded via the Gallery and then link in the ad. If the image is posted on another website, the url to the image can be linked to by clicking on the green image box in the second row of the editor. Thumbnails of the image(s) can be uploaded as attachments at the bottom of the page. All new topics in this section will be sent to a moderator before posting to ensure that the listing is for a specific item for a specific price. The For Sale section of ADI's Forum offered for use to Individual Users and Vendors as a means to sell or buy items to and from one another. 19. It has been requested that ADI implement a reputation system for the forum. Previously, members would receive the title of Newbie, Member and Advanced Members solely based on the number of topics they posted or replied to however, this system does not accurately quantify the quality of the information posted. These titles have been changed to Newbie, Contributor and Active Contributor. We are also enabling a reputation system in which members can “like” posts that they think represents quality information worth highlighting to others. This system is adaptable so if it needs to be tweaked, it can be modified in some aspects to meet the needs of the community.
  20. Warning Points are for when users use foul language or exhibit other bad behavior that gets reported to the moderators. It is a way of reminding people to be civil and helps the moderators keep track of any repeat bad actors.
  21. Hello, ADI is collecting information so that we have an accurate picture of different state laws that govern distillery tasting rooms around the country. Once we have all the information I will compile it into a document that will be made available for any distiller or guild working to get more favorable laws passed in their state. Please follow the link and complete our survey. https://www.regonline.com/tastingroomlawsbystate_1683647
  22. I would like to let everyone know that the results of our survey of state tasting room laws for distilleries will be published in the Fall 2015 issue of Distiller Magazine. Once it comes out I will link to a digital copy of the story.
  23. Since the original intent of this topic was to sell distilling equipment and Sean has said he will install a 15psi PRV for any buyer, I moved the rest of the debate on PRVs to http://adiforums.com/index.php?showtopic=6568.
  24. You are right. The old skin was removed in an attempt to fix the redirect problem. Now that the redirect bug has been address we will see about making the look of the forum a little less generic.
  25. FYI Some old topics and post had deleted due to a malfunction in the archive feature. They have been restored, so topics like "what to do with 'heads'? are back.
