  1. Organic Brazilian = $1.25 per pound for one barrel volumes. Larger bulk barrel volumes discounted. We have 16 barrels (53 gallon) We are located in Fitchburg, WI. Feel free to email me at nate@yaharabay.com for inquires. Certificate of authenticity will be emailed to serious inquires.
  2. FIrst off - I have NO affiiliation with this company at all....... I happenend across this looking for something else and I thought it was unique. They are also mentioning on their website an industrial version as well. Here is the link: https://www.plaato.io/ This is an airlock (carboy sized) that digitially monitors your fermentation and talks to your phone or Ipad and lets you know about the activity, temp, ABV, and SG. Its $135... I wonder if it can be used on a larger sized fermenter with some sort of mods... or wait for the industrial version. Is there anything like this out there now near this price or as simple? -Scott
  3. A growing distillery in the Peruvian Andes is looking for distillers interested in a 2-3 month work exchange for a distiller or beginning distiller. We are a craft distillery working with small scale sugar cane growers to produce Caña Alta, Peru's finest Cañazo (similar to Rhum Agricole), as well as our own botanicals for macerations and beyond. Destilería Andina is located in Ollantaytambo, half-way between Cusco and Machu Picchu, a perfect location for exploring Andean culture, archaeological sites and hiking on your days off. Looking for a demonstrated interest in fermentation, botanicals, blending, aging, spirits/product development, spirits marketing and of course distillation. We provide housing and a small stipend. Spanish not required. For more information write haresh@destileriaandina.com. Visit our website www.destileriaandina.com.
  4. Anyone have any feedback on using IBC totes as fermenters. We are a start up on a show string budget. 1) we can get used food grade for $100 and we get totes of molasses for our rum. Just seems common sense to use them in place of fermenters that cost thousands each. Thoughts?
  5. Looking for 200L to 300L stainless steel tanks (loose lid or floating lid ok) for our lab R&D. LD Carlson is out of their Marchisio tanks the duration, and others are too pricey for what they are. Immediate need, will carry shipping cost. Thanks!
  6. Can someone please explain to me the advantages or disadvantages of fermenting on the grain in open or closed top fermenters? I did a search and couldn't find any previous posts covering this in the forums. Thanks!
  7. We are in the Northeast of New York State up in the Adirondack Mountains. Cold in the winter (subzero to 30's) and 70's up to 90 degrees (hottest it gets) in the summer. Question is the need for a temperature controlled fermenting room. We have a room that I could easily heat and cool without to much of an expense to keep the temperature constant. Is that a good idea? Is it necessary? Thought it might keep our product consistent. Spoke to another distiller that was having trouble making whiskey in the summer due to warm temperatures. Plan to make moonshine as well as whiskey, bourbon, gin ?rum. Thanks
