  2. Anyone have any insights into the used still equipment market and what brands or types of stills might hold their value and are easier to sell than others? For example, would a CARL still hold its resale value better than a Vendome still? Would a Vendome still hold its value better than an Artisan Still Design still? Would a used 500 gallon still see more demand than a used 250 or 300 gallon still (or vice-versa)? Thanks!

  4. there were quite a few disappointed folks at the ADI conference this spring, who would have loved to take home our still we had on display. we decided to build another for stock, which has just been finished up. drop me, or your closest ASD Rep a line and we can get you set up with this still.
  5. Mad Buffalo Distillery, in Union Missouri, has been running our prototype unit through its paces. Now we feel its ready for prime time. 150 gallon charge capacity 12" bubblecap column electric heat with vegetable oil as a hex fluid 2hp agitator, with explosion proof motor full CIP (again explosion proof) below you can see Chris at Mad Buffalo getting ready for a whiskey run, and bottom most picture is a (steam) full modular system with all the bells and whistles that we can do do in full electric now. Electric bain marie is great for the application where steam is just not an option, Natural gas isn't available, or for a "Green" installation where electric heat is preferred.
  6. Gauging interest in a 30 gallon version of our MK2 design, 6" copper bubble plated column, copper boiler top and machine turned finish on the skirt. to this point we've purposly stayed away from this size, as there are a number of companies out there covering it already. But we've had enough folks asking, we figured it was time to at least come up with a design. you would supply tour own agitation (air driven probably) and heat control putting initial costing at about 1/4 the price of the 150 gallon. Design Rendering 150 gallon MK2 for referance
  7. on my way home from helping set up a 150 gallon Series 2 Modular Hybrid System at Legend Distilling. Very pleased with the results.
  8. Unit #1 is almost finished, a few more details to be looked after and it'll be on its way to Artisan Resources LLC. for full automation. This particular unit will make the rounds at this spring's ADI and ACDA events. Our new Series 2 will be available in this "Simplified" configuration, as well as our full modular Hybrid setup. with the new year, we're also adding an optional full copper vodka column for those of you who must have copper everything. we will continue to build/sell/improve our Series 1 systems, as well as custom builds, as we have over 30 of these stills delivered and in production, with another 10 being built or on their way. We look at the Series 2 not as a replacement but a complimentary line, for those who would like a little more than we were able to offer before. product condenser and Dephlegmater are yet to receive the same Machine turned finish as on the skirt. 14. Discussing with my business partner the direction we'll be growing the company, and thought I'd get some feedback from you folks here. I had the idea to build a building to house one or two of our stills and set it up so folks can come out and get some hands on before their still arrives. with the licencing we have in place, you won't be allowed to keep any of the distilled spirits, but you will be able to run the system and get an understanding for its operation with the guidance of someone who's familiar with the unit and is a competent distiller. Wouldn't call it a distilling school or anything like that, just the opportunity to get some hands on before you're Still is delivered. Your thoughts?

  17. Everyone that attended the ADI conference this last spring got to see our 60 gallon prototype while perhaps a little rough around the edges, it functioned better than expected, and is now in Dallas Texas Making Whiskey. Figured I'd like to show off Generation 2 of this design. Factory is finishing of 4 units in the next few days 2 with gin baskets in the head, and another 2 with Scotch Whisky style heads.
  18. For you folks that saw us at the ADI conference, you would have seen the prototype for this design. we're having several of these units built, and only the 1st one is spoken for at the moment. below are two pictures, first is a (very poor) picture of the prototype unit, which is on its way to Texas to make whiskey. the second is a rendering of the Hybrid version that we're building right now. Construction: Boiler, piping and accessories are all 304 stainless steel column / cap and riser system is all copper. Gin basket with 6" access hatch above boiler, Boiler has a fluid jacket for indirect heating, filled with food grade oil and heated by 3 electric elements with a total of 13500w control system requires 60amp 220v supply. 1.5 KW (2hp) agitator, 208v 3 phase price is $20,500
  19. we have our first Modular Vodka column Built and will en route to its new owner by end of week. based on our previous column designs, we tightened things up a bit more for height, and made it modular with 4 plates per section. Copper bubble caps and a CIP spray ball for each plate. turned out rather well I think. this column was built to fit under a 14ft ceiling limit - comes in at 13'-3"
  20. Well folks we're ready to take pre-orders for the Complete 30 gallon proofing stills. we've had the boilers available for a while now, but the columns should be arriving in about 2 months time. Sale price will be $4200 bare bones, DIY (boiler, column, 180 , clamps/seals and condensor) and $5000 Super Ultra Deluxe package (working on the name, but its same as above, but includes heat and dephleg temp controller, disabler valves element guards and elements, set up for 50A 220v) all units are serial numbered, manufactured to IS09000 standards, and registered with the FDA. 21. began construction this last week, on a 150gallon potstill, with gin basket and access hatch in the riser. I'll keep you updated as construction continues. this beauty will be delivered in late January/early Feb, and begin its new life distilling Gin and whiskey out in Washington State.
  22. We've had a lot of interest in out 30 gallon boilers, but a number of people have asked for larger boilers and waterbath/steam jacketed. I've come up with a design based on our larger 150 gallon Still. the boiler is double jacketed, and will be able accommodate waterbath heat, or steam heat. it will not have the insulation layer that the larger boilers do, so won't be as efficient with steam heat, but it is possible. for heating source, there will be the ability to heat the water bath with electric elements, or with addition of a skirt, a gas fired burner could be used. Looking for 2 early adopters, we need to presell 2 units to cover tooling costs, we will give special pricing for these 2 presold units. Pricing is not yet confirmed, but we are estimating a $7000 - $8500 with the 6" column
