  1. Hi, i'm looking for o good solution for making potato vodka (european specs/96%). Someone told me that an istill 5000 l potstill for stripping and a 2000 l hybrid for finishing could be a good solution, but i'm not convinced. The long term goal is 100.000 l lpa. What do you think? any suggestions for set ups or potato vodka distilleries to visit? all the best Martens V
  2. Deciding it's time to retire, we are putting our Vendome Copper Pot Still and Vodka Rectifying Still up for sale. This system was built in 2012 and was used for making apple brandy. Very minimal use, as we only sold finished product out of our tasting room. Both the Copper Pot Still and Vodka Still are 250g each. This system is being sold with a 1mil BTU steam boiler included in the sale. The system is currently located in upstate New York. Please get back to me with any specific questions you may have. We have officially closed our business as of this past weekend, therefore the system is available anytime. You can email me at: dwdf1025@gmail.com. Thank you for your interest. Asking Price: $500,000.00 complete
  3. We are selling our Vendome Copper Condenser. We recently replaced it with a new stainless steel version. It is three years old and works just as it should. If you are buying a new Vendome still, could be a great way to save a few bucks. 12” Wide Condenser, 60” tall which is the standard condenser size for most 500 Gallon stills which they produce. $3,500 for you to pick up or shipping can be arranged at your cost. This is less than 1/2 of what it cost new. Call or email Jon. 616-450-5649 jon@longroaddistillers. com
  4. Good day, I am actively pursuing the opening of a distillery in the upper Midwest. I have been working with Rob Sherman over at Vendome about quoting out a continuous run system. I would love to talk to anyone who has a Vendome continuous run system to see how they like it and if they had it to do over again what would they change. Please PM me if you would be willing to have a talk with me. Thank you, -Casey · Day to day operation in line with what you expected · Cleaning the equipment, efficient clean in place · Service and support after the sale · Setup challenges · Happy with the distillate did you have to make any changes to your recipe · Estimated operation costs per day · Have you experienced unplanned downtime due to equipment failure · What does standard maintenance cost in time and dollars · Does the automation provide adequate control with the ability to expand monitoring and controls
  5. We're working on putting a closed chilled water loop in place, but since it's taking us longer to get going on than we'd planned, we're going to go ahead and get started by hooking up our city water supply to the still condenser and dephlegmator just so we can start production. For those of you that are running your Vendome condenser off of city water, what size pipe do you have running to your condenser input? We have a 500 gallon pot still system, and the condenser input opening is 1-1/2". On top of that, Vendome only specs a working pressure of 15psi. I don't feel that running 1-1/2" copper pipe to the condenser is necessary (not to mention it's $$$), and if I can choke it down to maybe say 3/4", I think I'll get closer to their recommended operating PSI. Thanks for any thoughts and recommendations. -Matt

  7. Anyone have any insights into the used still equipment market and what brands or types of stills might hold their value and are easier to sell than others? For example, would a CARL still hold its resale value better than a Vendome still? Would a Vendome still hold its value better than an Artisan Still Design still? Would a used 500 gallon still see more demand than a used 250 or 300 gallon still (or vice-versa)? Thanks!
  8. Has anyone sourced a large (2,000g - 6000g) mash cooker from Vendome or any similar custom manufacturer? I'm looking for a ball park price.
