  7. Hello I'm Bill Fender, owner of W. Fender & Associates, Inc. joined ADI early 2021, exhibitor at the Louisville show. First I'm a manufacturer's representative specializing in bulk solids handling. After college I served an industrial electricians apprenticeship and worked as a construction superintendent. I joined Brown-Forman Corp. in maintenance and finished as plant engineering manager (19 years) at Brown-Forman Distillery. I started this business twenty-four years ago and have served the distilling industry, along with others, since that time. My specialty is equipment, I'm not a distiller. However, with nearly twenty years of experience running the plant side of a 6,000 bushel/day distillery, I have experience with many of the topics discussed here. If I have a solution I will gladly try to help. My goal is to gain trust and confidence. If you are looking to purchase new equipment I would appreciate the opportunity to help with your projects. I have served many of the distilleries in the heart of bourbon country. From complete grain handling systems, simple equipment size selection, extending useful life to helping move/meter materials, I always strive to serve my customer exactly the way I wanted to be served. Honesty, integrity and with an open mind are the keys to confidence building. I always keep in mind the customer depends on me for their career. I treat it like it's my career. 8. As the topic suggests Im looking for people who run continuous stills (preferably a continuous fractioning set up but also if you run a continuous stripper). Recently I visited Greenbar Distillery in Los Angeles and was very impressed with their set up: A continuous fractioning still as well as a 100 gallon, 4 plate pot. A very nice set up and they make some wonderful products. Needless to say it got me to thinking. I've read the lengthy thread started by Mr. Heising and have reached out to the known manufacturers of said equipment (Heising, McKee. Dehner, I'll be contacting you in the next few days. Did I miss anyone else?) but Im looking to chat with some operators and learn about their experiences with such equipment. Operations, equipment manufacturers and so on. Anyone willing to chat please let me know. Thanks all. -Frank

  14. Hello ! My name is Sophia and I'm a personal assistant of CEO. Our company wanna buy powerful distillery equipment for producing ethanol. Here is some details about equipment we need: 1. We need high quality equipment for producing food grade ethanol. 2. Feedstock that will be used: grain, corn and other raw materials: potato, sugar beet etc. 3. We need high capacity of our equipment for our plant (we want to produce big amount of liters per day on our plant). I think you can help me with this because I am not an expert in this area. 4. The degree of alcohol we want to achieve after distillation: 96 degree of food grade ethanol. 5. Requirements for impurities after distillation should be not more than 1%. Will be grateful for any information.
  15. Looking for a good home for a dependable still. I'm looking to get is sold as quickly as possible. I need to get it off my friend's floor so he can install his own equipment. He's been nice enough to store it for me! I had been saving it in case I got back into the industry, but I've decided to stick with my day job! Still Description: The still is a Series 2 Bain Marie Style Artisan Still from Artisan Still Design. It originally cost $85K new. It was used primarily as a stripping and finishing still to make whiskey, gin, and even small batch vodka. 150 GL double jacketed copper pot with 4 inch drain, pressure gauge, thermometers, etc. Can be run with steam or as a double boiler using 6 heating elements (elements not included). It's set up for either Steam or as a double boiler. I ran it with oil in the jacket as a double boiler and used heating elements to run it. I didn't have a boiler, so I used the electric setup. I do not have controller...these can be built for minimal expense or you can contact Sherman Owens for a control box if you need. If you decide to run it with steam, you wouldn't need a controller. Other Items: 1/2 Copper (Top) and 1/2 SS kettle (bottom). 4 plate copper column with copper bypass, ports for thermometers on each plate. Plates are bubble caps. Stainless steel dephleg with thermometer port. Stainless steel condenser with thermometer port. Stainless steel parrot. SS Jackets, piping, etc. 2 hp Agitator with motor, housing, and mixing shaft. CIP ports for pot and column. Has all seals, valves, thermometers, pressure gauge, pipes, tri-clamp fittings, tri-clamp seals, etc. Just needs to be put together. I'm asking for $25K OBO plus shipping and it would ship out of Prosser, Washington. A Friend is storing it for me at his distillery there. He'd box it up and get it shipped to you, if you decided to buy it. If interested in the still, please IM me. I am looking for a cash buyer and will not lease or use a payment plan. I will entertain lower offers. Thank you!
  16. So, we have stills (700 Gallon Stripping/300 Gallon Hybrid Pot Still), a boiler, fermentation tanks, a diaphragm pump, a small bottling line and an RO system. But really, that’s all we have at this point. We’re going to be primarily focused on whiskey production. I’m a very recent (about a month) crossover from the brewing world and have set up quite a few breweries in the past, but this isn’t very similar in my experience thus far. I could literally set up a brewery in no time, but I feel like I’m struggling here a bit with the task of identifying everything we need. If anyone has any time, I would greatly appreciate any feedback you’re willing to provide on the following list of things that I believe we still need. Here goes – · Air Compressor/Air Dryer/Filters. · Collection/Holding tanks -Low wines, Hearts, Tails, Blending? · Floor Scale (?). · Hoses (Distillery specific?). · Barrels. · Barrel Racking equipment. · Assorted Clamps, Gaskets, Valves, etc. · Thermometers (glass/digital). · Hydrometer/Alcometers. · Filtration system – Depth or Cartridge or both? · Flowmeters(?). · Cold Liquor Tank/ Chiller(?) (Unsure if Midwest city water is cool enough year-round). · Ethanol Detectors(s). · Forklift/Pallet Jack · Distillery Software. That’s where I’m currently at with this list. What did I miss? What don’t I need? I’ve generated this list by reading hours and years’ worth of this forum, independent research and insight from the very few folks I know in the industry. I’ve done my best to do my homework before asking for your collective assistance, so hopefully this doesn’t come across as a request to be “baby birded” the info. Thanks again.

  24. Any advice on cleaning bubble plates without CIP? I just got a new 4 bubble plate column and am wondering best way to clean it between runs? I will be running the same product (whiskey off grain) almost daily so not worried about taste of the product coming through in the next batch. Do I need to take the plates off to remove the liquid in the bottom and clean each time? I talked to some folks who said they dismantle and run theirs in a dishwasher. Would running water with cleaner (caustic or acid) through the column following the run and then running clean water through the column to rinse it suffice? If so, how do I ensure no residual cleaning solution from the pot ends up in the plates? Thanks!
