  1. So this may sound like an odd question, but we received our federal permit, and have not received our State yet (Ohio). The state has been submitted, but still in process. So this the question: Can we make small batches for Research purposes without the intent to sell? If so, just pay the federal tax on it? Please let me know your thoughts if you have any ideas. Many thanks, Curt
  2. In the process of putting together initial application for DSP. We are 4 partners that have an LLC and in the TTB application there are required documents for each owner/officer. One of these is a Source of Funds SOF. They require a current bank statement and the previous 3 months of bank statements from each partner. I realize we are all going into business together, however, we may not all want each other to see our bank statements. My question - is there a way to provide the info without compromising all this financial data to the other partners? Or has anyone else dealt with this and found a way to keep this private but still meet the TTB requirements? Thanks in advance.
  3. Hi All, I am looking for a good software company or a cloud based tracking system to insure we are paying the proper amounts of tax and the forms are filled out properly. Please give me any info or feedback that you have.
  4. Off Site Tasting and retail sales

Ok, I'm confused and seek wisdom. Where specifically does it say that I cannot have my manufacturing in one space and my tasting room and retail sales in another space across town? I am asking because I have seen this same set-up in two other distilleries and several wineries. I was under the impression that sales of bottles was only permitted in the same building where the product is made. Can anyone shed some light on this?
  5. The TTB may combine the 3 monthly reports into a single report (two if you also produce industrial alcohol) This would mean a significant reduction in paperwork and staff time for small distilleries. It is important that we give them feedback supporting this change and comment on the proposed new form. It could use some fine tuning from the end users. They are accepting comments through Feb 3rd. Use the link below to comment Regulations.gov comment form This link will bring you to a page where the new form can be found http://www.regulations.gov/#!docketDetail;rpp=10;po=0;D=TTB-2011-0010 Summary: TTB proposes to consolidate the information and data collected in four current forms (TTB F 5110.40, Monthly Report of Production Operations; TTB F 5110.11, Monthly Report of Storage Operations; TTB F 5110.28, Monthly Report of Processing Operations; and TTB F 5110.43, Monthly Report of Processing (Denaturing) Operations) into two forms. The two proposed forms would be titled, TTB F 5110.77, Distilled Spirits Plant Operations Report—Beverage (Nonindustrial) Alcohol and TTB F 5110.78, Distilled Spirits Plant Operations Report— Industrial Alcohol. The proposed new forms would not require a DSP to report the level of detailed activity in the production, storage, and processing accounts that the current forms require. A DSP would be required to report the proof gallons of spirits in inventory at the plant as either produced, received, or removed during the reporting period. Details in the link below: Notice No. 124, Revisions to Distilled Spirits Plant Operations Reports and Regulations Comments on this notice are due on or before February 3, 2012. To submit comments electronically, use the Regulations.gov comment form for Notice No. 124. To submit comments by postal mail or hand delivery, see the instructions within the notice. To view the notice, the proposed operations report forms, and all comments received on this proposal, go to Docket No. TTB-2011-0010within Regulations.gov. (12/05/11)
