Wanted to introduce myself. I have been working in the Spirits industry for 5 years and have a deep understanding of sensory analysis. I have helped to formulate and blend award winning whiskeys over the years and have learned from some of the masters. I'm reading often that botanicals should be at 20-35 grams/liter depending on the recipe. Is this liters of spirit to be collected or total liters of liquid in the charged still? of It seems that there are some varying opinions on the topic. Additionally what are the pros and cons to charging the still at a lower proof (60-80) or at a higher proof (80-120)? Thanks!

Does anyone know where the botanicals should be listed in formulas online? I would guess under "Other Ingredients", but when I try to submit it gives me an error stating that I need something under "flavors" for my class/type. I would guess that flavors are not botanicals, but perhaps I am wrong. Should botanicals be listed under flavors and classified as either natural or non-flavor? Any help or advice would be appreciated. Cheers, Jeff
