  1. Hello! We are selling our wooden barrel racks. These have served us well and are very sturdy and were built from solid oak using 3/4" all thread and hardware. They are 12 feet long and hold 5-53 gallons whiskey barrels and can be stacked, several high as seen in the photos. We are simply consolidating some inventory within our warehouses and will have a few hundred of these for sale. Each individual rack we are selling for $125 with bulk pricing available based on quantity. These are located in central NC. Please feel free to message if you have any questions about how these can become your storage solution!

  3. I recently came across TTB Tamer for distilleries. It is priced at $33/mo. I was wondering if anyone had experience with this system and could give a review. Thanks. http://www.ttbtamer.com/#pricing
  4. Hi All, I'm working with my city officials so I can get started up and am having some road blocks that I'd like to ask everyone about. 1) Are any of you being forced to have a separate enclosed "controlled area" for your finished packaged products? My officials are insistent that I do so. I've been to several different distilleries and have never seen this. 2) Is there an exemption in the IFC or IBC for bottled products? I have the one for spirit in barrels and I could swear I've seen a bottle exemption mentioned on other threads but I searched through and couldn't find it. 3) Is all of your equipment UL listed? I wasn't aware of this stipulation, is this common or is my city just being extra strict? Are there any ways around this? 4) They are currently trying to classify me as an M occupancy, I know in most cases distilleries are F-1. Should I roll with it and go with M occupancy or correct them to F-1? Thanks in advance for the help and input!
  5. We will run out of storage space relatively quickly for storing barrels. Does anyone know whether a elf storage facility would be allowed as bonded space for barrel storage? Thanks in advance.
  6. Does anyone have any experience with Marchisio tanks? They are available in 100, 200, and 300 liter sizes, and pretty reasobably priced. The only down side I can tell is that the spigot on the bottom is 3/4 inch. Does anyone have any thoughts on this. Again, we're are small scale and looking for something for small batch/R &D type stuff. Thanks

  8. Didn't know where else to put this. Our physical distillery space is very limited. Does anyone have any experience with whether or not the TTB will let you store aging barrels in a self-storage facility? I know that question is out there but couldn't decipher it elsewhere. Thanks in advance.
  9. Can anyone break down in simple terms of what is required for safety in an aging room? Very small room, about 50 SF with a 12 foot ceiling, single drain in the floor 2 windows, one waist height and one ceiling height. The room has a sprinkler, 1 light switch and 1 light.

  11. I had a few questions with the monthly TTB reports: I am a little confused on where to document bulk spirits before they are made into gin. We make vodka first which goes from our production account and then gets deposited into our storage account before bottling. When we need to make some gin we take some of the vodka from our storage tank and then redistill it into gin. Do we show the spirits coming from our storage account back to production for redistillation? How would you show that on the production reports? If that is the case what happens when you make some of your cuts when you redistill it to make gin? You could technically be left with less proof gallons in the end. Or do you keep the gin completely separate from the vodka storage tank and it still is technically in the production account until it is made in gin?
  12. I'm in the market for a new or used spirits storage tank. I'd like to find something under 104 in. tall. 1000 - 1500 gal. Thanks, B
  13. I work at a distillery in California, we currently store our barrels on their heads on custom made pallets. All fine and dandy, they are 5'x5' pallets and they work just fine. The two problems I have with them: 1) They take a lot of time to construct where I could be doing more important things around the distillery. 2) Being larger than standard size, they take up more space and pose challenges to moving logistics and destroy our storage efficiency. Having seen other distilleries and rickhouses where they also store their barrels on their heads, I noticed that not only do they use pallets that are standard size, but they were bought in bulk. Taking care of both of my issues. The question I have is if anyone is familiar with a pallet supplier for these purposes? Is there a well-known/industry standard company that I am unaware of? Any help would be great and I thank you in advance! EDIT: Sorry for the duplicate, moderators feel free to delete this thread.
  14. I am curious as to where most people are purchasing their SS Tanks. I am looking to purchase some tanks, I would like some open top and closed tanks along with some tanks that have jackets for heating and cooling, any suggestions on where to purchase would be great.
