Ben Capdevielle
Greetings. Is a .22 micron filter going to work ok for filtering gin?
bluestar
It should be OK if you are not compounding. All of the botanical contributions should be volatiles in a distilled gin. Avoid carbon, though, which would strip out some of the organics.

bluestar
Thank you bluestar. We here at Captive Spirits are getting ready for our first bottling of Big Gin!!! I will post how everything goes and any bumps in the road we come to along the way. Be very interested to hear about how things go, and would love to visit next time I pass through Seattle area (my folks live in southwest WA). What style of gin and what kind of base are your working with?
Ben Capdevielle
We are using a corn and a wheat base. It is a London Dry. We call it Big Gin. 100 gallon direct fire Vendome does most of the work. Give me a heads up when you are heading to the NW.
