Monthly Reports

Can someone point me in a direction for guidance in filling out the monthly reports namely production operations and processing operations. Have read the TTB instructions and they don't give much information. Storage operations report is pretty straight forward but the other 2 are not making sense.

For example, we just started the end of March but in that last week of march we produced 16.64 proof gallons. We sold 5 cases totaling 11.89 proof gallons. Still have 2 cases in distillery. 31.2 proof gallons were produced and placed in storage. On the production operations report Line 1 says tax payment.. I assume I put 11.89 gallons there. Then on line 9 where it is entered in processing account do I put the 16.64? Then at the bottom on line 14 it wants a total produced which would not be correct.. As you can see I'm totally confused and can't find any instructions or guidance to walk me through the reports. Even a sample report would clear it up..... Seems like it should be easy especially since we just started and have little to report but I'm not getting it for some reason.

I agree, these are confusing and I could use some help figuring things also. Seems this might be something ADI or our local guilds could provide to benefit its members and increase awareness to make sure we are reporting correctly??

Just figured something out. If you look at the tutorials on the TTB website and go to the FAQ and instructions there's a link to the form. I figured it was a link to the form.......lol..... But, if you click it then you can look at each box and bring up highlighted instructions on what to put in each box. Have looked at those tutorial pages so many times over the last few months my eyes hurt. As I said, when it shows a link to the form I figured it was a link to the form.. And I have the form on PDF and printed off to pencil in the numbers... Never bothered to click the link until this afternoon... another lesson learned about the TTB website... Am I the only idiot around here?? Wait, don't answer that!

According to the TTB site, several of these forms can be filed via www.pay.gov/. For whatever reason, I can't figure out how to file anything via this site. Once I've logged in, I go to the Find All Forms - by Agency Name, locate Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau and the following is all that comes up:

TTB General Information View PDF Form Number: TTB INFO TTB customers interested in filing electronically, should visit the following site for more information: http://www.ttb.gov/epayment/epayment.shtml Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau < Department of the Treasury https://www.pay.gov/paygov/forms/formInstanceRequiredLogin.html?agencyFormId=16848681

What am I doing wrong??

The way that I've navigated to the forms is click on Find all Forms (on the left hand of the screen), by Agency name, select TREASURY DEPARTMENT, the the second one down is Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade . and all of the forms are there..... Goood Luck ...thanxxxx..Brian

Thanks Brian.

Unfortunately, I still can't get it to work.

When I try that, it gets me to the same screen/info as I posted above. When I click on the link (TTB General Information), I get this message:

  • The system could not retrieve the requested form from the server.

If I click on View PDF, I get:

The system has experienced an unrecoverable error.

Maybe it's something on my end??

Duplicate post but desperate! Any help would be appreciated. Thanks...

"I am having the same problem. We are just starting out and I am not sure how to properly account for redistilling a stripping run. For example (using fictitious numbers), In September I did a stripping run of 5 proof gallons so I recorded it on form 5110.40 (monthly production) on lines 11 and 14.

In October I added the 5 gallons to another wash and redistilled it giving me 9 gallons. I also did 3 more stripping runs at 5 gallons each thus giving me a total of 9 + 15 = 24 proof gallons.

For Octobers 5110.11 I tried to put 5 gallons on line 1 (on hand first of month) and line 18 (transferred to production), and 24 gallons on line 24 (End of month). Pay.Gov gives me an error saying that the totals do not match on lines 6 and 24.

I've tried calling the TTB since last week and keep getting answering machines and no call backs. Plus today is the deadline for filing (15th).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

John "
