You can use the barrels to collect when emptying a whiskey barrel, then transfer the liquid to the next steps prior to bottling.

Or collect vodka coming off of your still, then easily move everything over to filtering, proofing, bottling.

We initially ordered two and then got another two after we realized how useful they were. We make our liqueurs right in these barrels and can easily roll them over to our bottler. The transfer drums fit on my drum scale for weighing water/spirits, then easily move to the still or where ever I need them to be. James and the folks at Teton were also great to deal with!

Do these have a sloped bottom or otherwise drain completely, or do they leave a puddle after emptying?

The drain is 3/8 of an inch above the bottom of the barrel, so a small amount is there. We tilt the barrels to get the final amount of liquid out.

The new version of the SS barrel, that we now offer, has the drain at the bottom. So there is no longer any puddle after emptying.

Here are some pictures of the new design. We have moved the drain at the bottom of the barrel to be an elbow.

With this new design, 100% of the liquid will drain out.

In the prior design, there was a small pool at the bottom because the drain was on the side, not fully at the bottom level of the barrel.

Users would tip the barrel slightly to get the last of the liquid out. That is no longer necessary.

We will have 38 of these stainless steel barrels (55 gallons) ready in November. $895 each. Please place reservations now.

Let us know what you think.
