ModeratelyHuge
I'm new to distilling, though I have a background in brewing. We have a lack of commercial production in my neck of the woods so I'm investigating what it would take to start and run a successful distillery. No immediate plans, just investigating and intending to work on a business plan in the coming months. Particularly interested in small start-up success stories (and details, details, details...). I'm contemplating a small/boot-strap start-up for 6-18 months of production with self-distribution as a "craft distiller" to establish a baseline interest in our product. The goal would be to follow this as soon as possible by outside capital for growth into a viable, full-time operation. But, I'm looking for other examples to gauge the possibility of success with this method.
