Lassiter Distilling Co

Accolades for Others

6 posts in this topic

Obviously, we all love our own products. After years of planning, study and compromising in one way or another, we all absolutely have to love what we make. Our North Carolina Rum (forthcoming here in NC, for those of you around) has developed into a complex, slightly sweet, floral and full flavored white rum which I love drinking.

But sometimes, after a long day of distilling, bottling, labeling, government paperwork and cleaning, I want to drink and appreciate someone else's hard work.

So what does everyone admire these days? I've got a couple I'm really into these days: Balcones True Blue is a work of art. North Shore Distillery's gin is completely unique and delightful. And Great Lakes Rehorst Vodka is the only vodka i have ever been able to drink since college.

Anyone else want to give some props?

Nice thought Lassiter!

I got a bottle of Whiskey Del Bac Dorado from someone that I've been digging into lately, some Sunchoke Brandy from Koval, Bourbon from 2Bar.......

Now I'm wondering if I have a problem due to the number of bottles in the cabinet

Darek Bell is an inspiration to me.  Love Corsair's Triple Smoke and Quinoa whiskeys.  I'm also a fan of fellow Pittsburgh distiller Maggie's Farm Rum Queen's Share Bourbon Barrel aged rum.

Wyoming whiskey! There is always a bottle of their bourbon in my cabinet. Koval oat whiskey is also a heck of a good spirit

Gentry,

Super cool idea for a thread buddy!  I have to say that I am in a very privileged spot and I get to taste a lot of cool products from all over the country.  It would be inappropriate for me to put any one ahead of the other and most everything I have had is AMAZING.  I think that speaks to the "craft" side of the industry and each and every product has its own unique and complex flavor profile which is even more stunning.  No one gin, vodka, whiskey, aquavit, bourbon, etc. is the same.  I have not tasted everything from all of my clients as of yet but I will say that everything I have had has been very good.  I cannot wait to see what others have to say.

I'm a big single malt fan. I either sit down to a dram of Bruichladdich (been drinking a lot Port Charlotte "Heavy Peated") or if I'm in the mood for something this side of the pond I don't think Westland Sherry Wood Single Malt can be beat.
