Work at the beach: New spirits company in Florida looking for Head Distiller

Move to the beach and help me build a world-class distillery in Pensacola, Florida, a charming city of 400K people and just voted #7 beach in US by TripAdvisor!  I’m looking for a talented head distiller to be responsible for the full distilling and quality control process for an ambitious project focused on tourists, locals and regional distribution. Should be well versed in new product development, scheduling,fermentation, distillation, aging and packaging operations. Open to both seasoned professional and someone ready to take the next step up.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Milling, Mashing, Fermenting, Distilling, Tasting, Proofing, Blending, Bottling
  • Day-to-Day operation and management of distillery and its employees
  • Management of raw ingredient inventories, ordering, and quality
  • Record keeping using distillery software
  • Barreling and barrel aging management
  • Packaging
  • Quality control
  • Creating new products
  • Equipment and systems maintenance


  • Entrepreneurial spirit, cool to work with, loves music and is passionate about making great spirits
  • 5-15 years’ experience
  • B.A. degree, preferably in chemistry or a related field.
  • Brewing and distilling MSc Certificate or equivalent education
  • Experience in creating and/or blending spirits such as rum**, whiskey, gin, vodka
  • Especially strong in rums
  • Strong relationship management skills.
  • Business-minded, with strong financial and analytical skills.

We are working towards a late 2017 open date and are interested in hiring someone in advance to be part of the design - particularly the work flow, development, and coordination of all pre-opening activities.
