  1. I found this recipe in the archives of this forum and my question was - does a Carter Head on a still actually support the amount of botanicals this recipe suggests? Is there a suggested weight capacity on Carter Heads? Thanks in advance. ==== In Dr. Muspratt's "Chemistry, Theoretical, Practical, and Analytical," the following receipts from the note-book of an extensive distilling rectifier are given. "For a Fine Gin, take 960 gallons of spirit, hydrometer proof. 96 lbs. German juniper berries 6 lbs. coriander seeds. 4 lbs. grains of paradise. 4 lbs. angelica root. 2 lbs. orris root. 2 lbs. calamus root. 2 lbs. orange peel.
  2. We'd have a separate wash still with a capacity of 240 gallons and then take that product to the 100 gallon spirit still. Sounds like a spirit run would take 4 hours approximately from what people have said above. I misspoke - we currently have bids out for a 14" column with 6 plates for the 100 gallon spirit still.
  3. I'm wondering how many runs per day someone could expect to make from a 100 gallon spirit still with a 17" column. Anyone have any information they could share? c.
  4. My name is Chris and I'm working on obtaining venture capital for a distilling operation in North Carolina. I'm a homebrewer who is looking to take his game to the next level. Glad to be a part of this forum! c.
