I spoke with a company who will be testing a Corn Extract in February which will be completely different than a Corn Syrup. If all other qualifications are met does anyone know if Corn Extract can be used instead of whole corn for a Bourbon mash and still be able to call it Bourbon on the label?

16 hours a week is just a starting point for me to try and figure out utilities cost. The idea was to produce about 60 gal of spirits a week through my 300 gal still. I still need to figure out exactly how long a run will take. Thanks for the information James!

Hello everyone, Can anyone give me a good idea on how to calculate utility cost for a 300 gallon steam jacketed still running for about 16 hrs a week on a 700,000 btu boiler? I know this will probably depend on a few things but I'm trying to figure out where to even start estimating something like this. Any help is appreciated.

Hey everyone, Being that I am currently in the planning stages of a distillery I thought I would introduce myself. My name is Duncan and I am working on a plan to open a distillery in Montana's Bitterroot Valley. Although I won't be the first to ever open a distillery in the county, I will be the only one in operation when the doors open. The county is home to a bunch of great breweries as well as a winery and meadery so I believe a distillery with tasting room will be well received. I have spent the last couple months pouring through this forum and have been really inspired by all of the knowledgeable distillers out there.
