I got this response from the TTB today. I cannot find anything that says why. I know that others on the forum have stated that TIB of bottled spirits is allowed. Can anyone come up with the TTB text that explicitly says the transfer of bottled spirits is allowed. This may have only been a temporary measure based on
Thanks in advance

Your question about the type of mill was answered nicely by @AdamOVD but you have not told us what type of grain you will be using, this could be helpful in other suggestions we might have for you.

Hammermill for corn, roller mill for malted barley
depending on how far you want to move from the mill to the tun will decide the cost of the conveyor. We got a quote for parts only to convey 30' to our tun using Hog Slat parts that was under $1500 https://www.hogslat.com/grower-select-grow-flex-auger-feeding-fill-system
Milling creates a lot of dust, make sure your AHJ is onboard with where the mill will be placed.

This is what we have available. $18 per proof gallon FOB 44212. All of these spirits were treated with spirals from Barrel Mill. If you would prefer to have it blended, we can do that as well and re-barrel the blend. At this point, other than the wheat all barrels meet the criteria to be called American Single Malt. Our current identity is as follows other than the wheat. This hooch is ready to bottle which we generally do at 90 proof and have good reviews from most anyone that has tasted it.

Cincinnati Insurance has special spirits programs. They seem to understand distilleries better than others.

No good way to keep it suspended between the 500 gallon fermenter and the still. It's only a problem with an all malt wash.

Bump. Price reduction to $4000

Going to have to move some of our stock, several hundred proof gallons, to accomodate a change in structure. Anyone have a handle on where pricing is on this spirit. Various barreled dates.
PM if you want to talk about a purchase, for now I'm looking at where the selling price should be.

TTB's requirements are much easier to meet than your local AHJ. I'd start with your local zoning/codes offices and find out whether their requirements are capable of being met at the proposed site.
ditto - far more important. Your local AHJ may not want a distillery in their jurisdiction. TTB requirement are not that difficult to meet but talking to your local building inspector and fire marshall come first. Are they okay with this? What is their read on the building and fire codes with regard to a distillery? Keep in mind, this is THEIR turf.

From a couple of old posts of mine
Before you join GS1 you should search on the term "GS1" on this forum and read all the posts. In a previous life I helped to write some of the barcode specs that are in place today and have been in the business of barcode labeling software since 1982.

John, it depends on what your municipality will allow. This thread should be helpful. If you have other questions, PM me

This setup will be in Zambia not sure that they give two cents about OSHA or any other American code.

Hello Velten and Welcome,
The short answer is, you will have to move the box. This article should be very informative. Although it is based on US codes, it is likely that Zambia's are similar. The only one who can decide for certain is your local fire marshall.

According to the manufacturer, no problem. The problem with an all malt mash is foaming. If you can bring your wash to a boil on your kitchen stove and there is no foam over, then there is no problem. Unfortunately an all malt wash 1 inch high in a 8 inch tall sauce pan will foam over when brought to a boil. But, it has to be a clean wash, this still is not for distilling on grain.

Thanks for the quick response @FIVE x 5 Consulting and @Kindred Spirits, no, the TTB did not cite the forum discussion. That was me trying to get things headed in the right direction.
If it is no longer allowed, so be it!
