Job Title Spirit's brewer/distiller Company Grand Canyon Distillery Location Williams, AZ 86046 Salary Job type Full-time Job Description Grand Canyon Brewing Company est. 2007 is getting in the spirits game. Coming off the heels of bring our brand new 40bbl brewhouse production facility/brewpub we have also procured a 1000L still for spirits distillation. We are hiring a spirit’s brewer/distiller for our distillery in Williams, AZ. This is a full-time position in a growing small business. Primary responsibility is brewing spirit mashes and managing production process. Secondary job is doing distillation. Must be professional and detail oriented. Many possibilities for employment dynamic with the brewery/distillery for crossover brewing, production brewer with distillation experience could be a fit as well. Responsibilities : • Perform all duties involved in the distillation process from raw material management, wort production, fermentation, and distillation.. • Maintain a clean brewhouse • Conduct distillery tours and work with public as needed. • be professional while representing the distillery. Requirements : • Minimum 2 years commercial brewing or distilling experience or 2 year commercial brewing/distilling experience coupled with a formal brewing education. • some heavy lifting is required. • must be willing to participate in equipment maintenance. • Firsthand experience mashing is a must, distilling experience. Operations Production -brew, ferment and distill bourbon, rye, vodka, gin, rum, and other spirits -incorporate as many locally sourced ingredients as possible -ensure a safe working environment for all staff and guests. -maintain an aggressive production schedule -maintain brewing, fermenting, distilling equipment -identify and order ingredients and equipment necessary for production (does not include spirits packaging) -collaborate with ownership on new product development -ongoing blending and proofing of spirits for new products Reporting -maintain daily production log -log all production and process using the stillhouse software -assemble monthly and quarterly operations reports that support the local, state and federal tax filing with the assistance of our business manager Administration -develop and update standard operating procedures for new and existing processes -hire and train assistant distillers -participate in distilling industry events, conferences and tours -represent Republic Restoratives at occasional industry events Salary commensurate with experience.
