  3. New startup distillery searching for Head of Distiller/Production Manager. We are a new distillery starting in the mountains of Frisco, Colorado. We are looking for a self-starter with a passion for craft spirits and great attention to detail. This is a great opportunity for someone interested in moving to the next level and seeing your name behind a brand. 4 years minimum experience is ideal, but not required. You must have experience with operating a distillery software system and managing inventory. Experience with Bourbon, Single Malt, Gin, Vodka, and Rum. You will be working side by side with the owner and cross training new employees to work under you as the company grows. Duties & Responsibilities Recipe development, spirit integrity and quality control testing Evaluate and monitor spirits produced and raw materials involved in distilling Performs every aspect of production including, mashing, fermenting, macerations, distilling, tasting, proofing & gauging, filtration, bottling, blending, labeling procedures, and scheduling Complete lab analysis and quality control procedures focusing on continued improvement Manage raw ingredients inventories, ordering and scheduling deliveries, forecasting production needs and budget management Maintain cleanliness and sanitation procedures for all distillery operations and equipment including compliance with CIP (Clean-In-Place) standards. Maintaining TTB and OSHA compliance Create and manage all record keeping in spreadsheets or any other required spirits programs suited for a distillery. Physical Requirements Bending/Stooping/Kneeling Climbing Lifting-Heavy (50-70 Lbs) Reaching/Pulling/Pushing Standing and Walking Other Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required Must be 21 years of age or older Must pass background check No present or past problems with drugs or alcohol Forklift experience Willingness to work evenings and weekends A great career opportunity in an even greater place to live.   4. By starting with roughly 1/2 of your water needed you will have plenty of water to dissolve your sugars. Use the remainder of your recipe water to add cold water and lower temp. 60 is pretty low and this method won't get you all the way there, but it requires zero energy. A tube in shell heat exchanger when transferring to a fermenter will definitely get you the rest of the way and you will have saved a lot of water.
