  1. Got ya! Nice and easy. Thanks for the suggestion.
  2. I like the rubber stamp idea and see how that could easily be changed for each production run to put the date on the case, but what do you do about the serial number with each case needing its own unique one?
  3. Thanks for the input gentlemen! I definitely like the ease of a digital thermometer.
  4. I've searched the forums and have found some related info, but some of the posts are years old and I'm curious what you are using for proofing. I've seen recommendations about both glass and digital thermometers, but the CFR doesn't seem to mention digital as an option. Also, the thermometers I've found online seem to have a very wide range and the CFR calls for a 40 degree to 100 degree range. Any input, recommendations, or advice would be much appreciated!
  5. I attended the two day course with Downslope in Colorado. Not only was the price reasonable, both Mitch and Andy were extremely open and helpful with pretty much the entire process. They cover most of the topics you'd want to know and would answer any questions that anyone asked them with honesty. The class had about 10 people in it and it was a great opportunity to meet with others that are in various stages of opening their own distileries. I would highly recommend them to anyone!
  6. Is there a reason you use charcoal instead of coconut shells? Also, what grain size do you use?
  7. I've been reading up on different types of activated carbon and am curious what most people are using? The most common seem to be coal and coconut derived, but is there a real difference between the two? What grain size do you use? Who do you order from? Any other information you feel is pertinent would be much appreciated.
  8. Just finished up with the two day course and wow it was awesome! Mitch and Andy were fantastic and full of info! Thanks for the offers and suggestions everyone. We're gonna have to see what we can fit in.
  9. Much appreciated! I'll be sure to contact you.
  10. Hello All! Long time reader, first time poster... First, I'd like to say what a great forum this is! The micro-distilling community is exactly what I want to be a part of and the knowledge that has been shared by everyone is very much appreciated! My business partner and I will be in the Denver area, next weekend, to attend the distilling workshop at Downslope and will be in town for a few extra days. We'd love to tour any facilities in the area, so if you are willing and have some free time on Monday 10/10 or Tuesday 10/11, please let me know. Thanks again everyone! Jesse
