Keith actually purchased his still from another vendor. That particular vendor seems to know very little about still design. The still that he sold to Keith was actually dangerous. It was a Baine Marie running oil and the jacket was closed to atmosphere. There was a Chines pressure relief valve of the type that looks like a stainless cylinder and is ported all of the way around. If Keith had ran the still as it was delivered, the pressure relief valve would have popped at 7.5 psi and hot oil would have sprayed out of the relief valve ports 360 degrees and anyone standing near that still would have been very badly burned. I sold Keith some vents for his jacket to solve that issue. Also the vendor could not tell Keith how to wire the agitator so I had my electrical department head help Keith with that. Also the agitator paddles on this still were way to small to get the job done so I sold Keith some larger better designed agitator paddles. Keith is a really nice guy and should not have been done this way by this vendor. I am not sure about the column design as I have not seen it first hand but I think that Keith will be able to do what he wants with it once he does a few runs and figures it out. The biggest problem Keith has with this vendor is that the vendor will not give him support. I think that the vendor is not giving support because the vendor simply does not have a clue. The vendor let the Chinese factory design the still and the people at the factory don't have a clue either. This vendor is going to get someone hurt or killed if they are not careful. This vendor is not Corson. This Vendor is in the Great Northwest and he has sold home distilling equipment for the last few years. He just started selling larger equipment a little over 1 year ago. His prices are really low. Only a few people have purchased his equipment so far. I talked with this vendor a couple of times on the phone. I originally called him because he was using my pics on his website. He did not know that they were my pics and he promptly removed them. He seemed like a nice guy. This is to the aforementioned vendor. If you are on here and you see this, I really hope that you understand that you are putting people in danger. If you do not know what you are doing you should not be selling this equipment. You are going to get someone hurt or killed and you are going to have to live with that. If another person contacts me for help with one of your stills and the still is dangerous, I will help them and I will tell everyone who you are. You have been warned.

Most diaphragm pumps can be grounded, even diaphragm pumps made from non conductive materials. If anyone wants to know how to ground a diaphram pump whether it is made from non conductive materials or not, contact me privately and I will help you with that. Also we now have jabsco impellers for flexible impeller pumps that are good for 205 F. Below is one of our 150 gallon combination Mash Tun Stills (parrot not shown). This unit is baine Marie and costs $14,000.00 to $15,000.00 complete with heating system and everything. Turn around time on these and many of our other models is only 6 to 8 weeks.

Re-using the hot water should work great for you. A lot of my customers do it that way and it saves them a huge amount of money and or water over time. It is a much better way than using a closed loop. The larger the mass of water the longer it will retain the heat.

Why not use the water from your condensers as free hot water? Run it into storage tanks and use it for mashing in and cleaning.

Below are pics of a 105 gallon Bain Marie that just went to Blue Pearl Distillery. The price on the turn key units is 13,000.00 to 14,000 complete. We have them in combination mash tun still configurations. We have been shipping 1 or 2 Standard series stills per week and around 1 pro series every 2 weeks. Please note that our heating system control panels have external heat sinks and they are NEMA4 which means that they are liquid, dust and vapor proof. Our controllers are much safer than those of our competitors that have internal cooling fans. Control panels with cooling fans suck air through the panel to cool the components. None of our control panels have internal cooling fans, because our panels vent the heat from the SSRs externally. If there is ethanol vapor in the air an internal cooling fan will suck the flammable vapor in which can ignite from arcing componants in the panel which can cause a fire and or explosion.

The new tax bill will help my businesses in many different ways. Huge savings in corporate taxes and especially in inventory taxes at the end of the year. Also this tax bill gives us all advantages when it comes to buying new equipment. I will be using the savings generated by the tax bill to grow my business by purchasing new inventory, adding new employees, buying new equipment and building more warehouse and shop space. I think that we will see over 4% growth in gdp in at least 3 quarters of 2018. We had 2 consecutive quarters of growth at over 3% in 2017.

You are being sarcastic right? I have spoken to and worked with several of Corson's customers concerning their issues with Corson's bubble plate columns flooding. After studying those columns closely, it is my professional opinion that those columns have several design flaws that both limit throughput and cause flooding issues. I have helped 2 of Corson's customers resolve the flooding issues, but they are still having issues with really slow throughput and the only way that I can see to resolve the slow throughput issue is to cut the columns apart and replace the plates.

They did not get their still from Corson. They just bought a fermenter from them.

The still below is one of our new 150 gallon single wall stills with an 8" 4 plate bubble plate column. The price for this still as shown in the picture is only $5,932.00 This still is great for liquid washes, such as for Rum, Barley Whiskey and Moonshine etc. We can supply an electric heating system for it at additional cost. That's the government bureaucracy that so many crave, at work. It all starts with, we need the government to take care of us, except in this situation it's supposed to be all about the revenue, but with the way they do things I wonder if they really want the revenue. I comply with what ever they want with a smile, but I'm a libertarian at heart. I hope that you don't give up and keep moving forward. That's the key, just don't give up. Also don't say or write anything that will piss them off. They are God in this situation, just like the safety and other inspectors, but I'm sure that you already know that. I think that you will get through it if you keep trudging forward. One ray of hope, is that as long as the new tax and trade bill passes small distilleries' fed liquor tax is going to go down over 80%. Let's all keep our fingers crossed.

DC works best for copper. Yes your 150 amp dc box is just a kids toy when it comes to welding copper. It won't touch 1/8" copper, and you will have trouble welding even 16 gauge copper if you are using argon. If you are working with any copper other than deoxygenated high phosphorous copper, you won't be able to weld it at all. Also you had better be a pretty dam good tig welder, even if you have a big enough welder. I have one Miller Syncrowave 200, two Miller Syncrowave 250 DXs, two Miller Syncrowave 300s and one Miller Syncrowave 500. I have several other welders but they arent Millers, so they don't really count The 500 puts out 625 amps max. It will weld 1/2" copper in one pass running helium. But you have to be running the water cooler or you can't stand the heat coming off of the copper for more than a few seconds. The other thing about copper is that you better get it right the first time, because you will cook off most of the phosphorous the first pass. I have so many welders because we not only build distilling equipment we also build equipment for the pharmaceutical industry under one of my other businesses.

Roger i hear you about Tito's. I think that the handmade statement on the label is very misleading. A customer told me yesterday that Tito's sold over $90,000,000.00 worth of Vodka last year. Do you think that is true?
