Artisan distilling is in the early stages of growth in comparison to microbrewing. Noone can deny public demand for local goods, but has anyone looked a the failure rate of new distilleries? If so, what were some of those insurmountable hurdles? Insufficient capital? Poor marketing/sales? Inferior product?
