  7. Kettle was made by Red Boot Stills in Iowa. 150 gallon steam driven with jackets on the sides and on the bottom. Onion is from IDK where and has functioned as our finishing still for 3 years. This unit comes with PRVs, product condensers, explosion proof agitation, and gauges. PM me for pictures or explanation.
  8. This useful still has several optional configurations and has produced multiple Double-Gold winning spirits at the SF world Spirits Competition and the NY World Spirits Competition. The kettles made by Red Boot Stills in Iowa and the other parts are from Still Dragon. The system is steam driven via an internal coil. It's volume is 150 gallons and valves direct the alcohol vapor to either the Gin Ball; The Caribbean Rum double-retort set-up; Or the 24 Plate rectification column. The Gin Ball holds 30+ pounds of botanicals, the rum retorts can be isolated to do 30 gallon test batches, and the vodka column easily produces clean 180 proof runs. Set up comes with pneumatic agitator, PRVs 3 product condensers, two product condenser stands and numerous bits that make up the system. PM for more pics or explanation.
  9. Nice reliable 300 gallon Mash Tun from Minnetonka Brewing. Used about 2.5 years. Steam driven with bottom and side jackets and cooling jacket above.   15. I am looking for an experienced contract bottler in Colorado. A suitable company could be in the midwest too. This is for an established and growing brand. Hoping to find an operation that can handle us for years to come. Must have 53 gallon barrel storage capacity, blending tanks, and a bottling operation with the ability to package, palletize, and prepare for shipments for pick up.

  17. Totally agree. We could never get enough koji prepared to do a full sized mash experiment. Fun to learn about the history and such and the similarities between Chinese Baijiiu and Batavian Arrack

We have attempted a Batavia style Arrack. 1. accomplish a red rice mold fermentation or red rice Koji as it is called. 2. do a 100% cane juice must (we did a 100% molasses must as we are not in the tropics). 3. pitch the red rice KOJI after a day of normal fermentation (essentially putting the yeast in competition with the bacteria making them create very interesting ethanol compounds). We also attempted a Baijiu using a white rice koji and a corn and sorghum mash! By far the most difficult part of this project is getting the koji done correctly and efficiently. We used bread proofing cabinet with some added humidy and temp controls to accomplish this. There is one company in America that can supply the spores to make Koji. If you are interested in this I can get you to the right place. Also note that the spores have been specifically bred to make koji. Attempting to gather wild spores is dangerous and unpredictable.
  19. We always try to price things and sell them to bars or retailers with an understanding of the MSRP. They are getting between 20-25% off retail and should be on;y be adding that back in for the sale price. Also, your bottles should cost slightly more AT your distillery because the customer is getting the experience along with the purchase.
  20. We run a double retort system and won Double Gold at the SF world spirits competition for our rum. You have to learn how to use it but I don't believe there is a better distilling method to make a flavorful rum. We make a 50% molasses and 50% cane sugar wash. Fermented with a yeast blend. Rum beer in the first retort and finished rum in the second. The spirit is made in a Single-Pass Distillation cut into 5 gal Korney kegs 2-4 gal each. We use about 30 with a 55 gal drum collecting hearts when we know we are in there.
