  7. Did anyone hear about this? Seems like no one was there, and since they are so close to a firehouse, the damage was contained pretty quickly. http://www.10news.com/news/husband-and-wife-distillery-catches-fire-in-spring-valley
  8. I believe that is what you might call thread jacking.

  10. We have six 500L oloroso sherry butts for sale. These just arrived today from Spain. They were filled with 10L of oloroso sherry for shipping. FOB our distillery in Washington, DC. Please contact us with any questions.
  11. we use it on the little sumo bottle from Saver. We have problems with both placement accuracy and even application, particularly across the top of the bottle/label. GE got the bottle to work on the labeler but they were using a smaller label!
  12. Where are you located? Sale of everything together or by the pallet acceptable?
  13. We bought a MAX a little over a year ago. Hopefully the weak Aussie dollar means better pricing these days bc they are a bit spendy. For regular cylindrical bottles it has been great. Easy to use, relatively quick, etc. We bought it bc it could also handle a rounded shoulder, tapering bottle (which are very hard to work with). Unfortunately on that front it still has a pretty high error rate. Peter @ Great Engineering is great and will go the extra mile but you have to deal with the time difference. I think the lesson to us is to choose your bottle carefully rather then that there is anything wrong with BenchMAX.
  14. We also recently had an unannounced FDA inspection. Worse yet it was a supervisor and a trainee, so the trainee was going through a very detailed checklist. List of required actions were not terribly long and were reasonable for the most part. They were particularly interested in our SOPs. We've also had a fire marshall inspection. If these things come in 3s, maybe the TTB will be next. They're less than a mile away.
  15. NicAlexander: look around, you can get them in the $1.45/ea range by the pallet.
  16. Can anyone recommend a good source for these? Some place where we can order limited quantities - maybe a few hundred at a time? Thanks!

  18. Aaron, if you're selling barrels now as well you should start a thread. I'm all for options in the marketplace but no need to jump on someone else's for-sale thread.
  19. This thing is the bomb. If you plan on working with hundreds, or eventually thousands of barrels, the investment makes sense.
