  6. Waypoint Craft Distillery is looking for a Lead Distiller who is ready to spread their creative wings and help us launch our exciting new brand. Waypoint is opening in Bloomfield Connecticut in early 2015 and we are looking for a lead distiller to join our team in later 2015 to work on plant assembly, and startup operations. The Lead Distiller will be responsible for developing and refining products, production, and managing inventory. With support from the Marketing team, the Lead Distiller will help showcase our spirits to help raise brand awareness. He or she will participate in client education, including distiller dinners, employee tasting, festivals, and other events. The Lead Distiller’s responsibilities will include: ·Daily distillery operations from grain to glass ·Development and placement of new products ·Setting standards for raw material and product quality ·Scheduling of efficient production, including managing distillation staff ·Judging and maintaining acceptable product quality and standards ·Implementation of and overseeing quality control measures, including testing procedures ·Maintaining appropriate records (quality control, excise tax, inventory control). ·Development and continued oversight of Distillery safety policies and procedures Requirements: ·A creative and entrepreneurial spirit. ·A background in chemistry or a related field; Brewing or Distilling MSc Certificate preferred. ·At least 3 years’ experience as a qualified Head or Asst. Brewer or Distiller ·Familiarity with liquor manufacturing, including mashing, fermentation, distilling, and plant troubleshooting. ·Strong relationship management, organizational, and multi-tasking skills ·Flexible schedule including days, weekends, and special events and holidays ·Excellent attention to detail ·Knowledge of liquor laws as they relate to filling and tracking orders, sales, and tax reporting If interested, send resume and salary requirements to John Taylor at: jtaylor@drinkwaypoint.com
