rtshfd
I'm about to use citric for the first time to clean the still. I have a bucket of concentrate at 50%, I'm curious what concentration everyone uses for a final pass in your still (copper/steel). HFD
Northern Waters
I've was taught to use a 2% - 3% solution but I would also be curious to hear what others do, including what the pH reads at that rate. Thanks!
bluestar
Low concentration to avoid pitting. Controlling temperature and flow/agitation is key to increasing rate and quality of etch. Higher concentrations will preferentially attack welds and defects, so don't do that.
OzDistilling
3% with a clean water rinse. A 3% solution is around pH 3.8
