BRoot
Does anyone have tips on the purchase of a forklift-mounted whiskey barrel grabber? Trying not to break the bank. The one I **really** want is $3500 and just not in the budget. I am thinking about something like this. https://www.globalindustrial.com/p/material-handling/drum-barrel/drum-lifters/single-fork-mounted-drum-gripper?infoParam.campaignId=WR&msclkid=13889c1e9c6a18cf859ac23099ed1bca&utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=[ADL] [PLA] [Material Handling] {Drum %26 Barrel} (Good)&utm_term=4582420874174874&utm_content=Material Handling - Drum %26 Barrel&adlclid=ADL-824b5801-14a4-4ce2-9d47-0c19433aecf5
Bier Distillery
Why not just put the [4] barrels on a pallet?
BRoot
Bierling, we often do, but we also carry around single barrels and want to offload single barrels from our barrel truck.

We manufacture drum handling and materials handling fork truck attachments in the UK, we also manufacture bespoke handling equipment to suit customer specification. The Special Base Gripper Model 1-DLR-BG Whiskey Barrel automatically garbs the barrel at the base, the 'arms' close around the base of the barrel and when raised hold it securely in position, to release just set to the ground and reverse away. There are no electric or hydraulic connections, this is purely a mechanical process that is very safe, quick and simple to use, we can also offer this unit in a double barrel handler to reduce the handling times even further. Please visit our website www.stclare-engineering.co.uk or direct email me at sales@stclare-engineering.co.uk so we can talk directly about you whiskey barrel handling issues. I look forward to your response in due course. Regards Andy

Patio29Dadio
Generally I see the game as a short and safe lift to a sturdy pallet and then lift the pallet with the forks. We use straps for the short lift.
