CalwiseSpirits
I've been getting numerous requests from businesses and government agencies for an SDS for the hand sanitizer. Does anyone know of a boilerplate sheet out there that can be repurposed? Or do we each need to have our own made?
DrDistillation
I'd imagine you would have to first get a lab analysis done of the sanitizer to know exactly what is in your "Ethanol" and to know the ppm, ppb breakdown of all components.
POP
I would advise against SDS creation. Currently FDA is relaxing a lot of its regulation, however businesses (mostly hospitals) that need to know you have made your hand sanitizer properly are asking for SDS and specifically ingredient breakdown. This means that you need to make sure you specify if and what you have denatured your ethanol with - i.e. gasoline vs denatonium benzoate, etc.
Hajiii
ACSA made this attached form available. Note that it is a Canadian form, so I wouldn't use it as is. But to ship hazmat, you need an emergency contact number available 24/7 on the BOL and there are companies who provide this service. I found Infotrac to be much less expensive for 1 year than Chemtrec, AND Infotrac included creating a proper MSDS in their fee. For less than $300, I highly recommend them.
