Palmetto Coast
What size glass cylinders are you guys using for proofing, and where the heck did you find them? Our certified hydrometers are huge, and won't fit into the diameter of our graduated cylinders. HELP?! Thanks, Todd
Mike Fiore
If you use a 250 mil Graduated cylinder on a level table fill the cylinder up to 225 ml + - read the hydrometer compensate + - for the temp.
Rum
We use 1000 ml cylinders. Check www.coleparmer.com. You can get them in a variety of materials including pyrex.
Lenny
For the fatty hydrometers I use a big cylindrical flower vase.
Sherman
When I put together proofing kits, I buy 500 ml ones from Amazon borosilicate aka Pyrex ones. http://www.amazon.com/213I14-Karter-Scientific-Graduated-Cylinder/dp/B006UKIB9G/ref=sr_1_cc_1?s=aps&ie=UTF8&qid=1371052914&sr=1-1-catcorr&keywords=graduated+cylinder+

Natrat
If anyone wants fancy designed glassware...sample thiefs, hydrometer cylinders, even cool hydrometers...one of my guys is a pro glass blower. He made me an awesome thief, and we're working on my dream hydrometer. Making a custom sized sample cylinder with a wigwag pattern on the base is easy...and not really very expensive. I'll post some pix when I get a chance to upload them to my picasa. I just like the idea of artisan glassware for my artisan distillery
