Is there a practical limit to using electric bain marie in larger sizes? I know some manufacturers hesitate to quote electric bain marie at 300G or more because of the heat-up time, etc. We'd like to replace our current 340G stripper/mash tun but not ready to spend the upfront cash for steam (and we don't really have the space for a boiler in our facility right not.

County seat,

It's true that some manufacturers hesitate to do larger electric baine marie systems.    We on the other hand do not.  As long as you have enough amps to push enough BTUs to heat the vessel in a reasonable amount of time, we will build you an electrically fired still and or a mash cooker as large as you like.  We have done several 250 and 300 gallon electric baine marie stills and two 500 gallon ones.  The heat up times for them are the same as our smaller electric stills because the heating system produces the same number of BTUs per gallon as the smaller ones.

We actually have electric over steam baine Maries that utilize our open system pressurization module technology to produce 8 psi steam in the jacket which gives much faster run times than water or oil bath stills.  We have had PID set point temp control for these stills for years now along with optional thermostatic valves to mechanically automate condenser and dephlegmator cooling as well as bubble plate column control.  Within the next 3 or 4 weeks we are adding the option of complete computer automation for our baine maries.  Our automated control systems are UL listed for class 1 div 2 or even class 1 div 1 if that is what you desire.  UL listed prototypes  of our automated distilling systems are in operation at a distillery here in MO.  These automated control systems control all aspects of the distilling process.  We will post more about this in the future.  Of course we will keep selling our less expensive PID control systems that are built from all UL listed components and meet the NEC 409 requirements for control panels.

What is the phase and voltage of your electrical system?  How many amps is your main disconnect panel?  what is your current amp draw during the operation of your distillery?

Below are pics of our newly designed 20 gallon ethanol reclamation and oil concentration system.  We also offer extraction/wash vessels with the complete system.  We also have pumps and filters for dewaxing. These vacuum stills will reclaim 20 gallons of 190 proof ethanol every 3 hrs, when fired by a residential hot water heater.  It will reclaim up to 20 gallons of 190 proof every 1.5hrs when fired by steam. It will produce up to 15lbs 6,803 grams of CBD oil per day.  CBD oil is selling wholesale for $7.50 per gram.  That is $51,000.00 per day worth of CBD oil.  Our complete oil king system including all support equipment will pay for itself in less than 1 day.  These can also be used as beverage ethanol stripping stills.  They distill at around 80 degrees ferinhight under vacuum.  These units have double jackets that are 3mm thick.  They were specifically designed for oil production which is why they have conical bottoms.  We have these in stock from 8 gallon to 150 gallon.  We can custom build system that will process up to 20,000 lbs of plant material per day.   The US government has taken hemp off of schedule one.  Hopefully they will do the same with Cannabis by the end of the year.  We currently have customers who are distillers who are branching out into the CBD business.  This is the prime time to get into this extremely profitable business.  We can convert most beverage ethanol stills into reclamation and oil concentration vacuum stills without a huge expense.  paul@distillery-equipment.com

Below is a picture of one of our 300 gallon Baine Marie Ultra Pro Whiskey Stills.  The device that sits to the left of the still pot is one of our open system pressurization models.  The OSP allows steam to be produced in the jacket.  Basically it is a steam still without the expense of a steam boiler. The large tank in the back to the right is a 1200 gallon HLT that we built for a different customer.

Yep and the chiller, cold water reservoir and pumps are being plumbed next week.

Same size as my photo but chiller is rooftop with reservoir, pumps and pump/chiller controls indoors.

Factory sending chiller start-up tech early January from TN.

Below are some pics of our new high  flow double cartridge filter housing on a cart..  The price for the ones that we are currently building here is $3,620.00  We will have some made exactly the same as the ones made here in china in 3 months for considerably less.  We are working on several other design variations that i will let everyone know about once we build and test them and they are ready for sale to the public.  The plumbing on the bottom can be configured several different ways.  it can be configured so that the spirit is ran through both filters or one individual filter.

Actually it currently has a better price than those of my competitors because of my great prices on high quality sanitary components.  Once I receive the first 30 from my factory in China the price will drop significantly making them even more appealing price wise.  Also I certainly would not use anything other than sanitary parts.  Also tri clamps can be connected and disconnected so much more quickly than NPT.

Below are pics of equipment that we completed last week.  The equipment in the pics is from 3 different orders.  One of our older customers ordered the stainless Vodka column for an Ultra Pro Whiskey still that he bought from us a few years ago.  We built the jacketed fermenter here for a different customer and the two 100 gallon direct fire electric still are for 1 customer.  We just finished a 600 gallon combination mash tun pot still today but we don['t have pics of it yet.  i will post those pics tomorrow.

We just completed the equipment below last week.  The mash tun stripping still is a 500 gallon electric baine marie.  The fermenter is 500 gallon and the smaller still with the copper bubble plate column is a 200 gallon baine marie.  We can build stills as large as 10,000 Liters.  In fact we are currently building a 10,000 Liter still, 10,000 Liter Mash Tun and seven 10,000 Liter fermenters.  Our square fermenters fit in much smaller spaces than round ones, but we sell round fermenters as well.

We just completed another Oil King Extraction system for a Hemp to CBD processing facility in OR.  This system will extract, process the oil and reclaim the ethanol from 200 lbs of hemp per day.  The system will pay for itself with the profits from just 1 day of operation.  You can process $5,600.00 worth of hemp into more than $50,000.00 worth of CBD oil in just one day with one of our 100 gallon, $37,000.00 systems.  These figures are based on the current bulk CBD prices of just $8.00 per gram running lower quality plant material with just 10% CBD.
