Long Island Spirits was founded on January 2007, and became the 100th distillery in the country and first distillery on the Island since the 1800's. Surrounded by centuries old of potato, corn, wheat and rye farms, the distillery is located on the bucolic North Fork of Long Island, in the heart of the acclaimed wine region. This innovative distillery is rich in history and tradition, dating back to the early 1900's. Today, the twin-cupola barn and new barrel house serves as the headquarters for Long Island Spirits Craft Distillery. Long Island Spirits is proud of the long history of this unique "twin cupola" barn and strives to help preserve this symbol of the rural character of the North Fork of Long Island. Long Island Spirits is a recognized pioneer in the Craft Distilling world, as a “Field to Glass” distillery, it produces award winning iconic brands that include LiV Potato Vodka, Rough Rider Small Batch Bourbon & Rye Whisky, Pine Barrens Single Malt Whisky, Deepwells Gin and Sorbetta Liqueur’s. We are currently distributed in 35 states and Canada and have a vibrant on-site Tasting Room that sells its spirits, serves craft cocktails & tastings to over 35K visitors year-round.

Long Island Spirits continues its dynamic growth and is seeking a wildly talented and hard working individual to join our Distillery Growing Team Distiller. The ideal candidate has a passion for working in the craft beverage community and possesses a special combination of being flexible and adaptable to our changing environment while being able dependable, organized, self-motivated with the ability to precisely follow directions, multi-task and be mechanically inclined.

Reporting directly to the Director of Distillery Operations and under limited supervision, will work a variety of tasks from cleaning, grain handling, milling, mashing, fermenting, distilling, barreling, proofing, bottling and a variety of warehouse tasks. Working in concert with the rest of the Distillery team, make sure all SOP's are closely followed and meet or exceed our quality standards. The new Distiller will be a rare mix of creativity and passion, while taking pride in knowing they are making the world finest spirits in support of our international distribution network.  

  • Independently perform all the production phases and activities related to distilling Long Island Spirits current portfolio of spirits, including milling, mashing, fermentation, distilling, barreling, proofing and bottling
  • Use Long Island Spirits web based Whiskey Systems inventory management on a day-to-day basis to maintain precise records of all distillery operation activities
  • Perform all warehousing activities related to shipping and receiving, including fork lift operation maintaining detailed records of inspections of incoming and outgoing goods
  • Provide laboratory analysis during fermentation in order to determine Brix, PH and other associated metrics involved with insuring a quality result ◦    Follow SOP’s and regularly inspect and perform proper preventive maintenance procedures on boilers, stills, pumps, agitators, bottling line, and all related equipment including effluent septic system
  • Follow SOP’s throughout distillery for quality, sanitary, storage, inventory and production programs
  • Perform a variety of simultaneous tasks working closely with distillery team
  • Provide leadership for distillery staff when Director of Distillery Operations is absent
  • Respond in a professional and logical manner to unexpected issues or critical activities that may arise during normal operations
