  1. The corrections are not specific to the hydrometers. You can use the IRS Chart
  2. Brewsmith, Sorry, I went ahead and bought the ferrules I needed and now that we have them my boss doesn't want to give up the 4" ones in case we need it down the road. I do have, however, 2 pneumatic-actuated 4" valves you're interested, and I'll have to look but I might have more 4" clamps than I have ferrules, so we might be able to sell some of those. Nate
  3. Greetings all, I've been posting, but I guess I should have started here: I'm working for a new distillery started by an MD that needs full time help. Purchasing some last odds and ends before starting production in the next few weeks and preparing to submit a COLA for 100% corn mash whiskey from my employer's family farm. We'll get into Rye and other products as we can, but we will grow all our grain and focus on whiskey for now. Thanks for the help so far. Best, Nate Delong Dusty Barn Distillery Southern Indiana Distilling, Inc. Mount Vernon, IN
  4. We are not using any malts, just enzymes and corn/rye harvested by contracted farmers. Our hope was that we might only have to fire up our hammermill once per month, and at worst once per week. I presume I'll need to examine the grain before milling to determine if each batch has too much foreign matter. I think we have grain stored in multiple bins, so there could be a variety of degrees of cleanliness. I just wanted some direct experience, since I've seen references to "chalking it up to character" regarding non-grain matter in the mash. For the time being, it is actually possible we could refrigerate the milled grain. Thanks
  5. Adam, Same boat here with the family farm grain. Thanks
  6. Can anyone help me determine how long I can store milled grain (corn and rye) without significantly affecting conversion/flavor? Also, I've read differing views on grain cleaning; who cleans grain and who doesn't, and why?
  7. Are these still for sale? Potentially very interested. Nate nate.dustybarn@gmail.com
