  1. Adam, We need California distribution for our award winning Gin. Big Gin. Please get ahold of me when you have the chance. Ben@captivespiritsdistilling.com Thanks!
  2. Upon further experimentation we found that the heads were much more responsible for louching than any part of the tails. Very interesting. More test results tomorrow.
  3. Thank you ViolentBlue. We filled a few cases of court jars at the end of the batch. I am working my way through those jars to find where the problem begins. I will continue to report on the issue.
  4. Greetings, Does anyone have any tips on how to prevent our gin from louching. We have distilled a 100 gallon batch of 100 proof base with botanicals in the pot into 36 gallons of on average 167 proof. We are smithing to between 90 and 94 proof. We haven't had this problem till our most delicious batch!! Thanks, Ben Capdevielle Captive Spirits Seattle, WA
  5. We are using a corn and a wheat base. It is a London Dry. We call it Big Gin. 100 gallon direct fire Vendome does most of the work. Give me a heads up when you are heading to the NW.
  6. Thank you bluestar. We here at Captive Spirits are getting ready for our first bottling of Big Gin!!! I will post how everything goes and any bumps in the road we come to along the way.
  7. Greetings. Is a .22 micron filter going to work ok for filtering gin?
  8. Thanks everyone! I'm going to check out Sound Spirits set up in town here, again I will let everyone know how we end up setting this system up. Cheers!
  9. Thanks Steven! What nights will you be around this week?
  10. Hello and greetings from Seattle! My name is Ben Capdevielle and I am co-founder and distiller at Captive Spirits. We are right in the middle of our DSP permitting. I am looking for some advice on a large diameter natural gas burner to fire our 120 gallon Vendome pot. I need about 150K BTUs. I am also needing to find out how to ignite the burner. We are required to have interlocks that shut down the gas supply if our condenser or vent fan stop working. If anyone out there has any advice on these subjects Captive Spirits would sure be happy to hear it. Cheers, Ben Capdevielle
