It all started with the idea of starting a grain to glass craft distillery, with big dreams of amazing aged spirits. Through endless hard work, with long days and nights of distilling, your aged spirits have matured and the time has arrived. Your craft distillery is no longer in its infancy, your spirits have been embraced by the public and sales growth is strong. After bottling and a highly successful release of your first aged spirits the truth becomes apparent. You do not have nearly enough aged spirits to keep up with demand. To make matters worse your equipment is nearly maxed out. With no immediate way to keep up with the demand, the time has arrived for the distillery to grow. There are many ways to sustain the growth and keep up with demand. One of the smartest ways to increase your output of distilled spirits is with a continuous column still. This webinar will compare and contrast continuous distillation against batch distillation and weigh the pros and cons of both.

  15. How are people handling their juniper berries in a gin basket? Are people grinding the juniper or leaving it whole? Same question for the coriander. Thanks, -t
  16. I haven't run it yet, but a cotton sack sounds like a very good idea. Any thoughts on how much juniper should be put into the basket? -t
  17. How full are you filling your Gin Basket? I was going to do a first run with about 130 gallons of 100 proof. About how many pounds of juniper are people using? Also, are people using some sort of boiling bag within the Gin Basket? It seems like the holes are large enough for the juniper and coriander to get through. Thanks!
  18. Thank you for the link. That is an awesome PDF! I was thinking more about adding the air separately, and not within the carbon itself. I had a pretty lengthly discussion with Rusty Figgins from Batch 206, Mike McCaw from Amphora Society, and Iain McCallum from Bowmore's discussing oxygen and its roll in smoothing things out. I think I have a better idea of how I can use it.
  19. We use a cistern to reclaim almost everything which helps feed the agriculture on the property.
  20. Does anyone have evidence what oxygenating vodka does during filtering? Is it a good idea to have some extra oxygen in the process when filtering through activated charcoal or is it a bad idea? Thanks!
