  1. Just seen video of this Benchmax. Looks great and appears to tick all bottle labelling requirements.
  2. So what about agitation during the blend.... Clever or not ???
  3. There are numerous food grade hoses on the market. Semperit is one of them. Important is to ensure that they can withstand process steam as this often dtermines the heavy wall thickness and upper temperature limits. .
  4. Odin, do you want to comment on why you are using two digital (bluetooth) thermometers in the center (intermediate) section and what function they serve. One I can get my teeth around, but two ???
  5. Did not understand the above comment. Please expand on this if you are only using beer as the coolant. Please can you post post a process flow diagram of your smaller unit running at 1.5KW.
  6. Hi Amy In this industry, they want esterification and secondly, they don't want carbonation.
  7. Bump …….. still waiting for video # 2. Need to occupy oneself during this 21 day lockdown period on this side of the pond.
  8. Have a look at this. Length made shorter by 5mm either side for welding within ferrule. I have presumed that the 4" ferrule has an ID of 97.6mm. I have presumed that the tube OD is 16mm exact. So the total face to face length of the 4" ferrule is 240mm as previously identified. You will not be able to use the larger 6" dephleg because it will require reducers to fit 6" to 4" and there are height constraints.
  9. Do yourself a favour; 1 Increase outer tube ring qty from 6 to say 8. You have space for this. 2 Change the plate thickess from 0.8mm to say 1.5 or 2mm and also don't chamfer the tube prior to weld. Unless you have a good welder, you will easily burn through the tube and plate. 3 Change total length from 214.2 to at least 250 and better still 300mm
  10. For me the interesting part was starting from 16% and maintaining the 96% until tails. @GENIO I had 2 observations. 1. You've changed your packing from those crazy flimsy thin SPP wire diameters to something more substantial Helical Coil Packing, say Diam 0.9x Diam 10 x 10 and 2. you were running with quite high power at 12 KW.
  11. You're splitting the infinitive. No one expects production distillate during heat up nor stabilisation periods. Really !!!!
  12. Sorry I am out of here. I asked an honest question. Cheers.
  13. Chinese quality is at best dubious. Proper qualitative food grade material supply yields the correct result.
  14. I am not going pee on anyone's parade here other than to comment on the later thread of the post purely because it's of current interest to me and that is use of an E-Stop .....EMERGENCY STOP. Use of an E-Stop has merits and in my system I have linked it only to the VSD for the agitator and the phase angle relay / power regulator for the 3 phase heating elements. Nothing more because I further need the PLC to initiate shut down when the E-Stop is pressed. So to the basis of the post. My EStop is directly mounted with an HMI on the still. It is further connected throu
  15. EPDM … (ethylene-propylene diene monomer). Yes, the gasket material between the clamped tri-clover ferrules.
  16. Sorry @bluestar . EPDM is the solution and is the best to use. Ensure that you have food-grade EPDM. I suspect that Nitryle / NBR has been used coupled with a possible Chinese supply which at best is dubious. Try select reputable supplier options e.g. Kieselmann etc.
  17. I have recently gone through this exercise. I have 7 temperature probes in my boiler and column and had initially designed on standard PT100's with 4-20mA PUKS and this all feeding into my PLC. With peer review it was suggested to not bugger around and rather do it properly with Ex requirements. The cost of this is obviously huge especially if you consider additional level switches and pressure transmitters also both with Ex requirements. So for temperature, I have used Ex rated 4-20mA PUKS as well as Ex rated 4-20mA isolation barriers. In hind sight I wish I had gon
  18. It sounds like one of STILLDRAGON's gaskets. Contact them.

    Odin on Gin

@OdinFruit peel. Which is best fresh zest or dried peel / fruit. I would have said fresh zest because of comparative abundance of oils. Also I read a lot of people infusing fresh fruit (orange) for the citrus taste prior to bottling. Your take on this ??
  20. Don't like the look of the glass on the left. No character.
  21. Word of caution. Stay away from wound filters. Desperately cheap and hopelessly inefficient
  22. I agree. I think that this is misconstrued because tables are at 20 deg C
  23. Very interesting read. No I didn't realise the differance in US electrics from ours other than frequency and voltage.
  24. In the heat element connection above from southernhighlander, ...... Very nice picture. But the first connection, STAR-DELTA is missing its neutral connection.
