  1. awesome, I love the home built ingenuity many of you guys have. I'll be book marking this for when I get started emptying barrels!
  2. Are you looking to make black vodka or buy it?
  3. I was able to get it calibrated to Ethanol after all
  4. That is an awfully painful slow heat up! Are you also using this still as a stripping still? sounds like it should work as a continuous still type operation. Is your mash solids free? What type of pump and means of controlling it do you have?
  5. As titles, looking for recommendations for a small table top scale to be used for weighing out botanicals for my gin. I have a shipping scale I've used but the display is crappy and it times out pretty quickly. What do you have and what do you recommend? I don't think I need an NTEP certified scale for this function, I do have a larger NTEP unit.
  6. I'm finishing up my ventilation installation which will consist of an explosion proof fan triggered by an RKI PS2 unit. I had to order a new unit and was asked what gas it should be calibrated to. i of course said ethanol, but hey claim that's not an option? I'm like WTF?? What should I have it calibrated to?
  7. Do you offer these as stand alone? If so, I'd be interested in taking a look. I'm very small and no way I could justify the costs associated with these programs.
  8. I'm playing around with my gin formulas and botanicals. While ordering some sample extracts for my vodka's, I noticed that the suppliers list flavors for gin extracts. I've never thought of using extracts for gin as i thought heat would put it into DSS classification, but after reviewing the BAM I guess it would simply be a compound gin and would require a formula. Anyone using extracts in place of some of their gin botanicals?
  9. FWIW, I put together a small excel spreadsheet of the botanicals I need for my gin and pricing form several of the larger suppliers. In all cases but one, SF Herb was had the best pricing. You do need to be wary of freight charges. Monterrey Bay has free shipping for orders over $300 so that may be enticing enough to use them. Last I checked Sf Herb was 9.41 per pound of Juniper, The others were all over $14.00
  10. Brand new in box. RKI PS2 combustible gas detector. This is the 48v version. Will sell for $350 shipped US
  11. If you find anything definitive here, I'm interested in hearing it!
  12. I've had good service through https://my.freightcenter.com/customer They have pretty competitive rates and are very knowledgeable.
  13. Somehow I misplaced the hose for my Enolmatic filler. I see Tenco has a replacement set available, but I'd like to get a longer length, something like 10'. The Tenco hose is made in Italy by Pharmapress but I cant seem to locate an online source. What hose is recommended?
  14. @SlickFloss whats your location zip?
  15. @south@Southernhighlander I was the Op inquiring about this. Susan did send me pics and dimensions of one of your units but I'm having a hard time visualizing how this will drop into the 12" diameter opening on my ferment tanks? The diameter is 19" the pipe size is 1" OD, and the tri clamp connections are 1.5". It is 39" tall.
  16. have you tried AdirondacK? https://www.adirondackbarrelcooperage.com/
  17. interesting, I may need to take a road trip across the state
