    I'm so glad to see this getting off the ground. Cali seems to be a bit behind some of the other states in getting organized. I applaud the organizers for taking the initiative to put the California Guild together.

    Greetings everyone. I'm working through a production cost spreadsheet, and have a question about California taxes. The state Board of Equalization site says wine and beer manufacturers must pay excise taxes, but spirits are taxed only at the wholesale level. Does this mean California spirits manufacturers only pay the Federal $13.50//proof gallon? Thanks in advance for the info.

    Arthur, count me in on direct sales "alliance." Perhaps California needs a craft distilling guild, like Washington and Oregon. Best, Jim
