  1. Using a 3 1/2-year Bourbon and wanting to try to infuse Maple syrup for a specialty drink. We are just in the beginning stages, and I'm interested if anyone has a good ratio of Maple syrup to Bourbon for our initial testing? Thanks, John Martens - Iron Street Distillery

We are looking for an experienced Head Distiller to join our team at Iron Street Distillery in St. Cloud, Minnesota, our focus is distilling and blending Gin, Vodka, Rum, Whiskey, Rye, Bourbon, and other Specialty Spirits. We recently opened our Cocktail room and are actively producing spirits in our production room. The head distiller’s responsibilities will include working with the owners to maintain and grow our brand and line of spirits. This position is available immediately. Iron Street Distillery is a small operation personnel-wise; the ideal candidate is someone who has experience in all distilling and production activities and has the temperament to work well with a close-knit team. The head distiller is responsible for training and supervising all distillery and production staff. The head distiller is responsible for daily production including mashes, fermentations, distillations, barreling, proofing, blending, and bottling. The head distiller is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the distillery and equipment. In addition, the head distiller is responsible for keeping daily logs of production activity as required by State, Federal and Company policies. The head distiller will also be responsible for creating and adhering to production schedules, ordering supplies, and troubleshooting equipment upkeep. Requirements: • Minimum 2-years’ experience in distilling and blending of spirits • Experience in production planning • Experience in facility management • Experience in managing a small staff • Attention to detail and operate production facility in a safe and efficient manner. • Expected to implement and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) • Ability to lift 50-75 lbs. repeatedly and be on your feet most of the day • Strong math skills and verbal and written communication skills • Must be able to use distillery software such as Whiskey Systems • Strong organizational and planning skills with constant attention to detail • Applicants must be a professional, self-motivated and self-confident individual looking for a challenge • Must be at least 21 years of age with clean, valid driver’s license Salary and Benefits: • Salary negotiable depending upon experience. This is a fulltime, salaried position.
