  1. Founded in 1981, Deutsch Family Wine and Spirits markets quality wines produced by prestigious families from major wine regions of the world. With our headquarters in Stamford, CT, DFWS has grown to become the fourth-largest Wine and Spirits Company, by far the fastest-growing in our industry. Deutsch Family Wine and Spirits (DFWS) is currently seeking a Master Distiller/Blender for our production spirits portfolio of brands reporting to the Head of Production. The Master Distiller/Blender will be fully responsible for the quality of the production brands of the DFWS spirits portfolio with the key responsibilities as outlined below: · Must have a true passion for, and a detailed understanding of distillation the components that affect a distilled spirit’s flavor and development. · Responsible for blending and blending quality of the DFWS spirits portfolio achieving the highest levels of quality and creativity. · Communicate and educate on the brand in an approachable, charismatic way to our customers (sales, distributors, retailers, consumers). · Work closely with the PR team on communication points for the spirits portfolio. · Comfortable in communicating the steps associated with spirits production in a clear and simple fashion. · Work collaboratively to educate customers on spirits production and the Redemption portfolio for internal and external usage. · Open to and comfortable with conducting interviews with the press including on-camera and for print/online. · Travel up to 50% of time to conduct PR and influencer events, in-market retailer and distributor visits and participate in consumer-facing programs and activations for the Redemption brand. · Desire to push the envelope and explore new-to-world and new-to-brand innovation. · Ability to successfully partner with cross-functional teams, particularly brand teams, to execute Redemption strategic priorities. · Ability to successfully partner with spirits-making partners and co-packers to deliver high-quality, award-winning spirits. · Ability to successfully manage barrel warehouse storage and tracking from afar and complex logistical challenges. · Maintain process logs to ensure product quality and consistency. · Maintain stock management plan for all products to ensure we are delivering accurate and complete yields. · Ensure all production elements, quality and demand schedules are achieved. · Work with the Packaging Engineer and Purchasing Manager to ensure that all packaging supplies are available, in specification and scheduled in a timely fashion for bottling. · Working with supply chain to ensure long term spirits supply and production planning is managed to support depletion needs. · Comprehensive knowledge of bottling and packaging lines and the associated capabilities of such. · Manage bulk spirits transportation and logistics. · Manage supply of ingredients such as Gin botanicals as needed. · As a team member be an active participant in project management of new and existing concepts. · Maintain accurate production and manufacturing records. · Working ability with ISO9000 or equivalent quality management systems. · Willingness and ability to drive, travel and spend time and remote co-packing facilities. · Ability to work independently and complete tasks in a timely fashion. · Excellent verbal and written communication skills. · Comfortable in a high paced production environment. · Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot in order to avoid escalation The successful applicant will have the following competencies: · 10+ years of distillation experience. · Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced working environment and the challenges of having to exceed deadlines and targets. · Strong interpersonal skills who is comfortable with building strong relationships with suppliers. · A team player who enjoys solving problems and is solution orientated. · Strong organizational and negotiation skills and a proven ability to plan ahead and prioritize workload. · A passion for delivering excellence in a cost-effective way. · Comfortable in a corporate yet artistic environment.
