  1. Established Pa distillery looking to move to a newer and larger location and transfer interest in its super cool/rustic fully ready to go tasting room to another Pa LCB licensee….distillery, winery or brewery. Neighbor is micro brewery and food trucks and bands for the year are all lined up. Comes with small 1000 sq.ft production area with floor drain and low pressure steam boiler. Drop me a line if interested. 610-737-2481.
  2. Wondering if anyone sells a sample or gift set with 3-5 small bottles in one set/gift pack. I see that Kings County has a box set with 200ml flasks. Wondering if there's anything else out there. We would like to stick with Nordic or Boston Round style/shaped bottles to stay on brand. Any info mucho appreciated.
  3. We have one up and strong on the other side. Pa. Drop me a line for info.
  4. Love to see the pictures.....Thinking of doing a similar thing!! Cheers, Sean
  5. Wondering if there are any special considerations that I need to look into when using different distributors in various states. Obviously the contracts will have to specify the individual distributors territories and terms but I thought it can't hurt to ask those who have come before me. Any insight into lifetime distribution rights & contract buyouts would also be greatly appreciated. Gracias
  6. I would strongly discourage you and anyone else from going with the Duda Diesel Pump that you linked. After several lengthy discussions with them about these pumps, they assured me that it was the right pump for my application. First major issue was the advertised size. I wanted and was told that I was getting a 1 1/2" input and output pump size. Instead what I got was a 1 1/2" adapter on either side that was simply an adapter screwed into the 3/4" ports. Certainly not a 1 1/2" pump. When I called them on it, they said it is what it is and basically tough shit. I suggested that they change the way the product description was written they said, with quite attitude, " We think it's fine the way it is" Then there's the quality issue. Ok so it wasn't going to do what I had wanted it to, gee maybe I can simply use it to pump water...should handle that right? Wrong. The impellers would jam up and seize. Had to keep manually spinning the keyed chuck to free it. Not a good experience with Duda Diesel on any front. Ended up going with an air operated diaphragm pump (Made in the good Ole U S of A) and couldn't be happier.
  7. We share a building with a brewery and installed a wall between the two operations. Most of the time, it's a nice symbiotic thing. We have two different addresses as well.
  8. I concur with Jedd. Distillery Solutions seemed like a good thorough package but the cost was waay beyond the affordable level for myself and other small start ups I am surmising. Not having it "in house" and in the cloud also scared me as did the reoccurring fee structure. If I'm a betting man, a well though out comprehensive software solution that covered the basic TTB reporting elements would be really well received if it were priced right and user friendly.
  9. Guess I meant distribution in the literal sense Hedge...Like I could load up my truck and go peddlin my goods from bar to bar.
  10. We're about ready to start working on outside sales (Beyond the tasting room), so I'll keep ya posted.
  11. I hear ya. I submitted my latest application last Thursday and figure I'll know around late flippin summer!!!
  12. How about from a neighboring state? I understand that each state has it's own laws on this but I believe ours (Pa) is OK with it....just wondering if NY is.
  13. Here ya go. No jacket but well within your price range. http://www.tank-depot.com/productdetails.aspx?part=A-IN0110-30
  14. I'd also be interested in know pricing on these
  15. We are located adjacent to a brewery (separate legal entity) and had to obtain a special exception ruling from the state LCB in order to get our approvals. Basically it means a physical barrier between both entities as well as separate entrances. It took approx. 8 months and some intervention from our local state Rep. and we finally got it approved. The DSP or "Plant" cannot be co-located with a retail component but that's not to say that you can't have a separated tasting room located nearby.
  16. Hi Jerry It took some time, blood, sweat and tears but the still is up and running....rather well I might add. Midway through the build we decided to switch from a bain marie heating system to steam. We also switched from a copper kettle to stainless with a copper head. She runs like the wind and we're thrilled it. Now we just need to come up with a name for her. I'll try and post some pictures here in the near future.
  17. Guy....not sure if you're hearing us but in the course of just a few short days, you got three pages of your CUSTOMERS' and COMMUNITYs' comments about their collective displeasure in your stance on this simple matter. Are you not listening or is it that you don't care??? Be careful what you create for it can also learn to have a unified voice and go elsewhere. A thought...think of all the successful and respected web communities and you'll see that they all share one thing,,,,a vehicle for their respective communities to review and share their experiences...good and bad......Amazon, eBay, Pandora, etc etc. I spent two years here on the ADI sight before receiving my DSP and opening my doors and give you mega credit for giving me the only tool at the time to weed through the shifty and fly by night suppliers and carpet baggers who are trying to cash in on the awesome wave of appreciation for craft spirits. The health of ADI as well as the industry as a whole will depend on those wishing to follow in our footsteps and open their own distilleries. As such, you should provide them as much insight and help as possible.
  18. Personally, I find the moderators justification lacking and counterproductive to/for the constituency that supports it. Disappointing.
  19. I have to agree with the folks above which is to allow critiquing of suppliers for the best interest of the community as a whole. Keeps the suppliers honest and striving to serve the industry in the best manner possible. If a supplier has issue with a bad review, they should also be able to address that bad review on the same forum. Just my two cents.
