  1. In our Home Brew shop we sell ‘Still Spirits ®’ stills from New Zealand where distillation for personal use is legal. Hundreds, if not thousands, have been sold nationally as “water purifiers”. Just because someone throws away the water & chooses to keep the impurities is their choice.
  2. Taxing you to spend your money supporting local people is nothing new. Most people call it a "sales tax". "Make your money here & spend it anywhere else in the world & we won't tax it!" Has no logic to me, but then I live in a state that does not have a sales tax. Mark Chapman
  3. Talking to a wood worker last night, the question came up why are barrels still curved. They are no longer rolled anywhere. The certainly could be banded other ways (rather than driving bands on). A lot of wood is consumed (wasted) making traditional barrels. The curved design demands a high skill level in manufacture to not leak. Is this simply another tradition? Mark Chapman
  4. If you are collecting in something that is pressure rated. Compressed gas (N2) is by far the simplest "pump", not much cost (if you have gas on hand anyway), not much to fail, no explosion potential (presuming that everything is grounded for static charge, which is should be anyway!). At 10 feet speed would be more a question of tube size, than psi. Mark Chapman
