  1. The only thing I have been told to watch for is to make sure it's a Whole Grain product. There are many sweet feeds out there that have "pellets" in it that are not grains. Nutrients they may be but I wouldn't drink it...
  2. My understanding that the only true "white whisky" by law and character is Corn Whisky.....
  3. What Company are these guys with?? Is there a Website?
  4. JUST TRIM OFF THE "FREE FLOW PATTERN" OR DISRUPT IT IN A PLANNED VARIATION, USE A DIFFERENT COLOR AND MAKE A CUSTOM IMPRESSION... LIKE OLD SCHOOL WAX LETTER SEALS... THAT'S WHAT I'VE IN MIND WHEN I GET TO THAT POINT... (RUNNING TO PATTEN OFFICE RIGHT NOW) lol!! CHEERS, BRANDON "KORN LIKKER" Not yelling... all caps was on... too lazy to re-type... And yeah.. I look at the keys when I type...
  5. I was advised to use .... http://southwestwax.com/ by Frank the Bottle Guy.... Cheers, Brandon "Korn Likker"
  6. You can air cool but the rule of thumb that I've been taught is the colder the worm, the better the product. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Cheers, Korn Likker
  7. Thanks for the help!! I've looked in the old threads but I also hoped that maybe some good updates about the Xpress might fall if the tree were shaken. I've received one good e-mail about them and their 3rd generation machine, but one good comment cannot out weight the all the bad. Coop,it may however be something that they may use to rectify your bad experience with them. I wouldn't do it unless they ate the cost. With the bad press on here I hoped they might try harder to pull the name out of the mud. This does put me back on the search for a good bottler. Any recommendations?? After a while they begin to sound the same.... Labeling sounds like it can be simplified. I looked at the Race Jr. and was impressed. I liked your thoughts about that Bob, less moving parts, breakdown and room for error or label loss. I admire your hand labeling Coop but I have a few too many thumbs to freehand it. I'll keep it simple with a manual machine. Thanks again for your input. The journey continues..... Cheers, Brandon "Korn Likker"
  8. Thanks for the insight COOP. Is there any info on the Bottle-Matic[/url?? Am I just looking too low on the food chain as far as equipment is concerned?? I plan to start small as it seems most do on here but I don't want to get ripped off either. Is there a low cost bottler and or labeler that you recommend?? Cheers, Brandon "Korn Likker"
  9. I'm pondering the use of the Xpress fill system for filling, the Bottle-Matic for labeling and Wax for sealing. However I've read of calibration issues with the Xpress fill and removal problems with the wax. I'm aware that the Xpress fill has made advancements with their product but I've not seen much about it since. As far as the bottle-matic, I'm just plain old curious. If there are any of you with info regarding these products please let me know.
  10. Hi all! I'm a little new to this site. I've been lurking for a few months but you can learn only so much doing that so it's time to jump in the mash tub. I am in the process of working on a business plan and finding resources. I've also been to the TTB site and immersed myself in it somewhat. Distribution is one area I've not looked at much yet but it's coming. Like others here I have hopes and dreams of making distilled spirits or as we call it in these parts, Likker. These parts I'm referring to is western North Carolina. There is still likker flowing in these mountains but I would like to make it without having to hide in the woods or worry about a raid. I've not made any but have had my share of the good and the bad. The funny thing is when you get it, they all say it's the best around. The tastes have ranged form diesel to smooth as silk likker with no chaser needed. I've done more reading than anything, mostly about moonshine specifically as that is the regional flavor and my favorite. There are some off the shelf brands of whisky I like but nothing hits my pallet like korn likker. As momma always said," You like what you like!" The moonshiners have if anything provided me with the inspiration to contribute to this renaissance of likker but put myself in a position to do it with respect to the craft and the consumers (don't want to blind anyone). When it's all said and done it is your name on the product and you only have one to ruin. I hope not to be a bother as many on here are advanced in the craft, but you have to crawl before you can walk and I feel the only dumb question is one not asked. I will however try to find the find the answer before I ask the question in the forum. nuff said bout me. Cheers! Korn Likker
