Although a couple have stated that they run separate cooling lines, would anyone be willing to answer some of the questions posed by ADK? In particular, the effect of a rising temp in the dephlegmator...I have also experienced the issue mentioned when the dephlegmator is fed from the condenser output.

I found Rumrunners comments on using Saf-Whiskey yeast interesting, although he's obviously not pleased with the result. I had been wondering how a malt whisky yeast would perform in a rum wash? Was thinking of the fruity esters that can carry through in a malt whisky, which got me thinking about molasses washes.
