  1. I wasn't aware of this brand name for denatonium benzoate. I imagine the other people posting were in the same boat. Searching for the chemical name only made it very difficult to find a food grade supplier.
  2. This is huge. Isopropyl isn't easy to find right now but still probably way easier than denatonium benzoate.
  3. Is your math wrong or is mine? Preferred formula for 100 gallons is 1/16 avoirdupois ounce (28.35 grams) denatonium benzoate. 28.35/16=1.77 grams per 100 gallons So 50 grams should be enough for 2820 gallons, not 282. Also I straight up cannot find a USP grade source for denatonium benzoate. Only source I've found is "for research use only" and specifically not FDA certified. Any leads?
  4. I've been developing my gin recipe using exclusively maceration (my R&D still doesn't have a gin basket), but I do have a basket for my production still and would like to use it for at least some of the ingredients. From what I've seen, vapor extraction seems to concentrate the botanicals significantly more than maceration, and I'm wondering if anyone has any tips for what that ratio might look like. Have any of you scaled a recipe in this way? Or, without getting into anything proprietary, can any of you give me some insight into the general ratio of juniper to distillate that you're using in a basket as opposed to maceration? Thanks.
