  1. I think you owe me $100. Otherwise I just wasted about twenty minutes reading this bullllloney. You are a distiller like I am a bullfighter. I have seen a bull, and I have been in a fight. The rest is just bull.
  2. So you think I added a costly step to my fermentation process in order to produce a false sweetness? Come on man..... Ethyl acetate is synthesized in industry mainly via the classic Fischer esterification reaction of ethanol and acetic acid. This mixture converts to the ester in about 65% yield at room temperature: CH3CH2OH + CH3COOH → CH3COOCH2CH3 + H2O The reaction can be accelerated by acid catalysis and the equilibrium can be shifted to the right by removal of water. It is also prepared in industry using the Tishchenko reaction, by combining two equivalents of acetaldehyde in the presence of an alkoxide catalyst: 2 CH3CHO → CH3COOCH2CH3 Silicotungstic acid is used to manufacture ethyl acetate by the alkylation of acetic acid by ethylene:[5] C2H4 + CH3CO2H → CH3CO2C2H5
  3. Nice to know that all of you guys are adding sugar to achieve your result. My vodka is naturally sweet when it comes out of the still and filters. I am sure that many people probably do add sugar, but we will not. Wheat, yeast, water. That is the whole formula.
  4. Just don't go the route the Chip Tate did down at Balcones. It ended up costing him his company. Read up on it on the internet...
  5. He doesn't drink. And the winner only gets another lawsuit.... lol
  6. What you will find is the domain was registered before you filed for your Trademark. As a matter of fact a quick check of the USPTO shows that you never have filed a trademark at all. Heck, I may just file a trademark for that, sounds like a name I could use.... Case closed.
  7. As long as you don't use a .com in a negative manner or make disparaging comments about the brand you can own it. It is legal for anyone to purchase any name they choose that is available in the U.S.. My .coms are for my own personal use. The Anti-Cybersquatting Consumer Protection Act (ACPA), enacted in 1999 and codified at 15 U.S.C. § 1125(d), creates a civil action against cybersquatters, where the cybersquatter had a bad faith intent to profit from the registration of a domain name, and the domain name is either a trademark or identical or confusingly similar to a famous or distinctive mark. I have no intent to sell or profit from any .com I own. I do not own any .com that could be confused with a famous or distinctive mark. Best wishes and look us up on www.successvodka.com
  8. Note: Twister is a distillery. Things are made from stainless steel tanks and copper and stainless piping. This should be a surprise to no one on this forum..
  9. We had a flash fire which I take responsibility for. I was in the hospital for 21 days, I take responsibility and bear the scars for that. We rebuilt the distillery with a new internally heated pot still and I take responsibility for that. We won a Gold Medal in New York City and have a 5 star rating from www.VodkaBuzz.com/vodkas/success-vodka/ and I take responsibility for that. Here's to hoping all your products do well and your days are filled with sunshine.... jt
  10. The folly is that you fail to realize that my only statement was that I was using a piece of equipment that you left at the distillery. I didn't say you were an idiot. There are photos and receipts to show that in fact this equipment was at the distillery when I arrived.
  11. Garrett Janko , (now Scissortail Distillery, moved two doors down and attempted to bankrupt Twister) You are saying that mass produced small stainless "still" you bought and operated was "my design"?. As you know well, that was the only "still" you had and operated. YOU bought it. It was there when I arrived. You used a propane burner to "make" your "gin" using this "still", remember? You were still doing it when I got there. I took pictures. As a matter of fact this is the only "still" that was ever used at Twister Distillery before I installed an actual working internally heated still that has been inspected with a boiler that has been also inspected. Where is the "still" that you have now that is operational? I have not seen any permits or inspections for stills or boilers at your "distillery" or any other location in Moore, Ok. Don't bother posting pics of that crazy 100 gallon contraption you welded together either. I sold your propane burner for that and thank god you never fired that thing up. The fact you did not reserve your own website addresses before naming your brand and you point that out to people and blame your competition for your loss is absurd. Please use spell check in order to make your sentences readable. The fact you post under "twister vodka" instead of revealing your own name is also questionable. The fact you go around making statements in the manner you have been does more damage to you than it does to us. Move forward and make progress, mud slinging looks you look like an idiot. Please keep private arguments private. This is not the forum for mud slinging. Best wishes to everyone and Drink Success Vodka! #drinksuccess
  12. Worst day of my life by far..... We had reporters in the plant doing an interview at the time of the incident so we had the old equipment left over from the previous distiller fired up for the show. I can't really say much more than that except for that I have recovered well and am back distilling again. We put our new 850 gallon still online with a boiler system when I got back and started making "Success Vodka" in Moore, Oklahoma. We have already been rated 5 stars by VodkaBuzz.com and won a Gold Medal in the Top 50 Domestic Vodkas in NYC. I would like to thank all of you for the support and kind words here on this forum. If you get a chance to try some of my vodka I hope you will.
  13. Well, you can have a lot more problems than that, such as a sulphur smell from using lignite coal to filter, differentials in water quality, flavor from the vessels, and so much more.... I understand that the rules are different in other parts of the planet than in the U.S.. Thanks for the information, however, this has proven very interesting, especially you BW FIggins, great information, I may play around with this at my place.... Jeff
  14. I believe "our fundraising goal" would be "as much as possible" at least that would be MY goal........ no need to hide the specifics..... lol This forum is the bomb....
  15. That is a very interesting article, thank you for putting it forth! The flavor I speak of greatly resembles that of a blueberry. In your experience, is that a flavor that could be obtained by adding citric acid? Thanks ... Jeff
  16. Sounds like you've got er made partner! Best wishes with your new venture. Jeff
  17. So I have probably taste tested fifty or so vodkas, and each one has a pretty specific flavor profile. Depending upon whether they are grain, potato, or other, how they are filtered or not filtered, the number of times through the stills, the cuts, the type of still, and the water quality create differences in flavor to be sure. One thing I have noticed, however, is Grey Goose's distinct flavor. Take a drink of another vodka (straight), then take a drink of the Goose. Let it settle in for a moment.... Notice the berry flavor in the finish? Does anyone think they are adding this flavor in without stating it, since it is a miniscule amount? Do you think it comes from the particular type of grain they are distilling? Any other ideas? Just wondering... Jeff
  18. "We make vodka and flavored vodka on contract for private labels. They all receive a high quality product. No heads or tails mixed in. Looking at the current top 20 vodkas on Proof66.com, I know that Fuzzy's (#2) is made on contract. Also American Harvest (#7) is made on contract. http://www.proof66.c...best-vodka.html Many of the top whiskeys in the world are made on contract by LDI in Indiana." Thank you for making my point for me. Anybody with a couple hundred grand can buy premade product and put it into a bottle with a different label. Now every celebrity or Johnny come lately can call themself a distillery. I can easily point to ten "different" labels that all have the same whiskey inside. This is diluting the market and making life difficult for anyone who choses to do it the hard way. Look at Balcones Distillery, Chip Tate chooses to make his Rye Whiskey by malting and mashing instead of buying premade. His product is slow to age, and slow to market. It costs about $100/ bottle and wins awards constantly. How can he keep up with Johnny b Goode who buys premade hooch and puts it into a fancy bottle without ever owning a real still? The best part about all of this? There is a whiskey shortage in the U.S. Now what will you fake "distilleries" do when the orders come in? I'm not against anyone making a profit, especially a distillery. Bottle your own stuff if it is that great, and stop selling it cheaply to other people to market.
  19. Someday the truth will set you free my friend....Did anyone else see that my friend Chip Tate at Balcones is moving into a much larger distillery? He makes some great Whiskey! Best wishes everyone! Happy New Year!
  20. Good Luck and hire a good psychiatrist..... and a Chiropractor...... and an Attorney..... Prepare to get a divorce.... Now you are ready to begin. Best wishes! Jeff T.
