Since 2007 we have been grain to bottle. 100% of our rye, wheat, corn, malted barley and malted rye is grown in our county. We currently have about 30 different labels and we are doing custom distilling and packaging for other distillers. Call us if you need a custom whiskey. kent@grandtraversedistillery.com

  3. I’m glad to see many of the changes. In my area there are stores that have craft sections and up to 50% of these products are nothing but bottling companies. They are definitely not distillers, There marketing companies . the problem is retailers like the low prices and stock their products if your true craft and make your spirits from grain in house it’s really hard to compete and have a bourbon on the shelf for $30. I will be very happy to see on these products in the future the states that the product was to still dead and it will not be in the state the business is currently operating and I will be very happy to see on these products in the future the states that the product was to still dead and it will not be in the state the business is currently operating in We all need to do our part when doing tours in our Distillery‘s to pick up a bottle of whiskey and explain the terminology we been doing this for years. I think these new rags will help customers see through the bullshit currently on market
  4. Has anyone found a 1/4 oz pourer to make the sampling easier? Have done some searching on the net and can't find a measured pourer that small. Thanks Kent
  5. Hello Please contact us at kent@grandtraversedistillery.com concerning the racks. Kent
  6. Hello Wondering what size of screen material may work best for this purpose? Has anyone ordered this material to filter out the liquid after distillation? We use a 2 roller mill so the grain is not milled to a powder. Looking at buying a steel container and building up the bottom with a screen and allowing the liquid to filter out. Thanks Kent
  7. Thanks for the feedback! We will go forward from here. Kent
  8. In Michigan we have a very high mark when looking at the taxes paid on spirits here. Has anyone had any success going to their state capital and as a group getting a reduction in the state tax paid on spirit? My thought was that if a distillery produces the spirit and uses local agriculture to produce these spirits how about a reduction in the taxes paid? Not expecting much to happen on this here because of our economy but would like to know if other states were helping distillers located in their states. It would make sense because if we are buying our grains that are grown by farmers in the state we are helping supporting the economy and helping our farmers.
  9. Thanks for the information everyone! I will be making a few phone calls. Kent
  10. Does anyone have a good source for sweet molasses? Would like to play around with a rum but am running into walls on where to purchase quality sweet molasses. Thanks Kent
